Classic vs. Shadowlands

In your opinion everything is better. In my opinion retail is absolute trash. I hate essences. I hate the artifact grind. I hate that my mage lacks 2/3rd of the ability he has in classic.

See how that works?

We’re each allowed to have our own opinion, and when that happens it means a thing is subjective. Not objective.

How is your version of the game so bad that you guys have to come troll the classic forums? Why aren’t you playing retail if the game is so amazing?

I’m farming satyrs as we speak, and loving it. I love how chill the game is.

Go run a M+ or something.

Yah I think The Whole daily grind is what made it boring for me. I loved legion and had a blast but I was hoping when bfa came out they’d get away from the whole daily grind. It just isn’t exactly fun content to log on to my plethora of alts to do dailies over and over and over again. Also the raids just aren’t as fun for me and the lack of uniqueness between classes really ruins pvp for me

I play both.

If you don’t like retail you just don’t like MMOs.

And I can’t understand how you would enjoy one but not another, it’s the same game except retail is way harder

i will never buy any other expenssion of blizzard because all blizzard do since the end of ulduar is a joke and clearly not a mmo…

i finish classic and its done between blizzard and me

even if they release tbc i will not be on it because they will release the end version full nerf… like they did on classic…

Clearly reading comprehension is not your Forte and as such I’ll try and reiterate this for you.

I post because I have an opinion that I choose to voice. Whether it’s popular or not is frankly irrelevant.

And yes: your enemies becoming stronger as you do is in fact good RP since it shows that they are addapting to you and pushing back. I get that this makes your e-peen go floppy, but when you hit end game and have a little bit of gear it’s a moot point that scaling made things in any way marginally more challenging.

You clearly haven’t been reading notes on what shadowlands entails since it looks like it’s rolling back a lot of changes that have occured to wow over the years, including re-introduction of talent trees and more class specific abilities as opposed to spec-specific ones.

It’s almost like Blizz heard peoples complaints about BFA and it’s various issues and gasp adjusted there design philosophy!

I actually stopped playing classic around the time I hit the late thirties owing to the fact that I found the game to be well… tedious; as a warrior tank I was perpetually broke, Blacksmithing was a chore and a half to keep leveled particularly since I couldn’t find the materials to do crafting in level appropriate zones, combat felt sluggish… simply put I found after a certain point that I simply wasn’t enjoying it.

Which isn’t to say it’s bad or no one should play it or that they’re wrong for enjoying it; I can see how the class quests can be a lot of fun and how getting to 60 is all about the expieriences that you have along the way or how some people might prefer the gameplay from this particular era and for those people I’m honestly happy that they get to enjoy the game.

My hope though, is that the success of classic would mean the release of subsequent expansions in the same style as Classic: released seperately on their own launchers so that players can enjoy wrath, Mop. Cat, Legion and other expansions as they were when they were current.

Will each raid prior become meaningless or is scaling of gear per patch crazy high?

Is LFR,LFD, ilvl scaling, lvl scaling, phasing, different raid difficulties, mythic +,and catch up speed in it?

Yea, no thank you.

Guffaw.

You silly person, you.

The motivation to play retail regularly is basically 0. They permanently ruined warcraft lore with their horrible writing in BFA to the point it’s not worth following or caring about, and they’ve continued to prune, simplify, and ruin PVP. Dueling and RBGs are dead and arena is crippled.

Even from a PVE standpoint, there’s no end goal anymore. Reputations don’t stop at exalted anymore; now we have paragons and a billion collectibles with a ridiculous low chance. I’d rather not the same emmisaries, world quests, and rare mobs for years because of a dumb 1% drop.

I am waiting for a newer announcement regarding class changes and content in the Shadowlands. $40 for the equivalent of the Argus patch just isn’t worth the money. They’ll get my pre-order instantly if they announce a faction merge, however.

It seems Classic has had an effect on development, as we will all be 50 when it’s released. If they bring back the talent tree so I can tailor my character to my play style, then I will play it.

However, they should abandon the AP grind and the progress bar that comes with it. Playing Classic, I have realized that bar being there constantly diminishes a feeling of accomplishment when reaching max level.

But that’s just me, I kept up in Legion but in BfA, I lost the drive to keep up. Power and abilities should never be dictated by time played, or have such an effect on the choice on what a player does at max level.

If I want more power, it should come from the gear in higher level instanced content, and that gear should have sets. That was what drove us for years, not pushing a bar across the screen forever.

If Blizzard goes back to a more Classic core, with the Retail QoL changes that have brought improvement, I’ll buy it. If not, I’ll be sticking to Classic.

What? Where do you even get that? I love ESO, SWTOR, GW2, and dozens of other games.

And they are the same game? You seriously don’t understand what’s different between classic and retail?

You aren’t worth having a conversation with, to be honest.

The constant ad hominem attacks (kids, I’m too stupid to read, etc) make you look bad, not me. I disagree with your opinion, and yet somehow I’ve managed to hold a conversation without insults.

You’re coming at this with dogmatic persistence. You can’t refute the metacritic scores. You can’t change that BfA flopped. You can’t make people love the systems we all hate.

Re-read this thread. Most people don’t like BfA, and aren’t buying Shadowlands. You can insult me, but it won’t change that.

You are so twisted that people disagree that you have to attack them personally, because your entire identity is wrapped up in justifying why you play a game.

I genuinely pity you.

I quit when Cataclysm came out and never looked back. Didn’t like a lot of the changes that were made and it made me sad. I’m happier than ever that I can play the WoW that I enjoy and will never go to retail.

Totally  im used to it. But comparatively Classic is So. Much. Running. Then its: where is my fp? And no Im not more immersed or suddenly more socialized while old school traveling

It’s cute that you’re complaining about ad hominid attacks when you initiated this by making a petty comment about my character’s appearance. Again, reading comprehension is something you should look into.

And my goal isn’t to try and change your feelings or those of others but simply to state my own. That you’ve chosen to climb up on a cross so as to try and project further is frankly on you.

But hey, your clearly happy playing classic and I’m happy for you.

And you clearly aren’t. You admitted in this thread that you couldn’t make it past the 30s in classic. Yet you haunt the classic boards, and talk about it like you play it.

The difference between you and I is that I don’t feel compelled to seek out people who like a different game, and then try to persuade them that they are wrong to do so.

I’m not up on a cross. I’m just tired of your insults. You know I can read. So why be a prick? Because you’re frustrated that you have no leg to stand on.

Every time you’ve made a point I refuted it. You didn’t like my answer, so you ignored it, and plowed on.

I made a comment about fel-tinted goggles. That’s not the same as insulting you, the person behind the keyboard.

Your guild is well named.

You really haven’t refuted anything other then claiming oppinion as fact.

But by all means continue to pontificate.

Fact- you don’t play Classic. Fact- these boards are devoted to a game you do not play. Fact- you believe retail is superior to classic.

I’ve left your terrible spelling and grammar alone, but if you’re going to bust out words like pontificate maybe make sure you understand how to spell opinion.

I have refuted your points. You disagree. That’s cool. I hope you find a game you actually like playing enough to, you know, play it instead of insta-replying on forums for a game you don’t play.
