Why did Blizzard allow mage boosting throughout all of Classic, leaving the world barren without anyone playing?
Why is there a pre patch with little to no advertising, releasing both of the new races killing a lot of the hype for the big release?
It seems to me like Blizzard doesn’t really care about the health of the world in game that they are creating, and they are now more interested in creating a product/service. Azeroth is dead, there is no one trying to level legitimately, and the entire experience feels tainted as a result. Race to the Outlands here we go I guess.
You are on a server where I saw countless people leveling between 1-50. This was before prepatch. There were people getting boosted, but I saw tons of dungeon groups forming, people doing quests. The world was definitely not dead.
Because gatekeeping over time spent in a video game is stupid and some people don’t want to play irrelevant content to get to relevant content, especially when they’ll be behind everyone else by the time they do.
Also you only get one boost per account. It’s an extremely tame implementation as far as microtransactions go. It’s not ruining the game.
Because if Blizzard had done anything to change the Classic experience, people on the other side of the aisle would have been screeching about Blizzard overstepping and failing on their #nochanges promise.
I think you’re being a little melodramatic. This is for you:
The car’s on fire, and there’s no driver at the wheel (because of boosts)
And the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides (because of extended maintenance)
And a dark wind blows (thanks Blizz)
The government is corrupt (and so is Blizzard)
And we’re on so many drugs (because of the mount)
With the radio on and the curtains drawn
We’re trapped in the belly of this horrible machine (WoW)
And the machine is bleeding to death (WoW is dead)
The sun has fallen down
And the billboards are all leering
And the flags are all dead at the top of their poles
It went like this:
The buildings toppled in on themselves
Mothers clutching babies
Picked through the rubble
And pulled out their hair
The skyline was beautiful on fire
All twisted metal stretching upwards
Everything washed in a thin orange haze
I said, “Kiss me, you’re beautiful -
These are truly the last days”
You grabbed my hand
And we fell into it
Like a daydream
Or a fever
We woke up one morning and fell a little further down
For sure it’s the valley of death
