They are a pretty hard-line no changes but new content is okay person. Have you tried to engage them understanding that perspective or just called them rude names for saying that these changes are bad (which I am in agreement that the class changes are basically all harmful to the game in their current state).

Yep, and thatâs where it ends. He has every right to voice his opinion but a lot of his posts arenât really doing that.
Iâd love to see Blizzard make a Seasonal forum so folks who want to discuss Classic Era have a place to have their posts seen too, SoD is drowning them out here.
Youâve been around, Eyr has been posting his stances on these forums in detailed ways for a long time. Iâm not sure if he needs to preempt every post with that.
Sometimes it is fine to show frustration when a bunch of tourist spam the era forums with SOD posts and are too daft to see how all the changes are just watering down the game.
Seasonal game is fine, and I am not against SoD (even if I disagree with basically every decision they made). But these forums are to talk about what good things can be done for era, and SoD is making a worse game, when there are so many ways to potentially make a better game.

Oh, I totally understand Eyrâs perspective and have summarised it back to them. They dislike what TBC/WotLK did to class balance and identity, and donât want to see those features or others added to Classic. They dislike the direction the devs are taking Classic Plus and would have preferred a minimalist approach with minor tweaks to balance, completion of unfinished content, etc., instead of this - admittedly - heavy handed approach to SoD.
Thatâs a perfectly valid opinion to hold and share.
But insulting everyone who disagrees with you as âclownsâ, calling every mechanic you dislike âretailâ, and arbitrarily declaring that patch 1.12 is objectively what the original devs intended to be the end state of the game, is just immature nonsense.

I agree that the focus should be on the game and there should be no personal attacks.
But those are coming from all sides at the moment, and hopefully as time goes on these forums calm a bit so we can have useful discussions again.
And most importantly they should split ERA and SOD into separate forums.

This is actually a good point of discussion.
Players are definitely get a big power increase so it makes sense that world mobs would need to see an increase in power too as to not trivialize the open world content.
Resource management has also been brought up and while classes do have more spells, which means more strain on what was already âdifficultâ to mantain resources, every class has been given a rune to combat that as well.
The new gear from the BFD raid and the wPvP content is going to trivialize the open world even further.
I agree, no one side to this argument has a monopoly on being impolite and the Seasonal servers probably should have their own sub-forum.
Several others have taken to calling Eyr a serial contrarian, and thatâs a very apt description. Theyâre definitely not alone in that, but they are a very regular and prominent poster - especially as they insist on signing every post with the expressionless emoji, just so they stand out a little more.

This is my thought too. We will explode out of the gate when the level restriction is raised to 40. We will all be raid geared as we enter STV, Arathi, and Desolace. The mobs will get crushed.
Problem is, if they buff the mobs for the raid geared, little Billy Newbooty will struggle to level, maybe even enough to quit.
The devs have to walk a tightrope on this one. As I said earlier, I want them to err on the side of more difficulty.

Thatâs more so in the recent times since there are so many posts about SoD changes. They have been in agreement with many things that align with their views in the past.
So basically all the tourists that never came to these forums before, and are now hyping a game mode that was against what a good majority of posters in these forums have been discussing for a year, see Eyr as a contrarian. Perhaps they should also take a step back and think about the bigger picture.
I donât think anybody that frequents these forums is surprised that Eyr isnât happy with the proposed changes.

Concerning leveling in the world, I feel it should be balanced to feel like it is currently. I doubt anyone wants it to feel like it is in retail but leveling isnât a place to be banging your head against a wall. It could turn off players just as much as the raised raid difficulty did in SoM.

I know youâve been around for a while but this observation of the posting persona goes back to when they used Arielba to post back in like 2020 or so.
Itâs not recent but itâs expected (at least by me) at this point. I get that some feel a lively discussion is entertaining. Maybe the reason for emoji memeing is part of that spark for excitement.

No, this is not just some âexperimentâ that we can merrily play or forget about. itâs a travesty / insult that these devs think they can just put in skills from other expansions and call it âclassic+â 
so iâm going to keep voicing my discontent, and if you donât like it, you are free to ignore my posts.

I think youre overacting a bit here. This is a seasonal server. There is no better time to experiment and go all out than in a seasonal server. SoD is exactly what I want, and Iâm a classic era player. New abilities, a new raid, new metas, new pvp areas. Also new stuff to âdiscoverâ.
Era servers like Whitemane are unaffected by SoD. And when SoD shuts down, Era will still be going strong. In the meantime, you should join us in playing SoD just to experience a new way to navigate Classic WoW.
