♻ Classic "Restart" after Naxxramas, and F R E S H Servers

For me, much like season diablo, it’s a fun point to start fresh across the board with a bunch of other people.

You start with a fresh economy, everyone is around the same level, there’s plenty of groups for low level content.

Come naxx on a single server a lot of people aren’t going to be doing like… BFD

Oh, but a lot of people will. It’s a long-established part of vanilla server culture.

Why don’t you just enjoy the game right now as it is? Maybe reaching 60 first then git gud and then you can suggest something. Jesus fcking Christ, it’s not even Phase 2 yet.

A lot of people want to know what’s “after”

Are we going to spend all the time playing on here for it to be stuck at Naxx farming at 60 forever after? Are we going to be moving the server to TBC? Are they opening new servers for TBC that we can transfer to? Are they going to do seasonal servers, so I can focus one class here and then the next server focus another?

These are valid questions even this early. A lot of people may not even put the time in if they aren’t going to TBC or if they are forcing fresh starts on TBC

They won’t have a chance, and this is a total waste of resources.

A lot of people in the private server community like it and other mmos that do legacy servers it’s almost like seasons in diablo

There’s no resources wasted, these servers aren’t physical, they’re just virtual machines that can be spun up and down on a whim.

An actual, physical, server today is exponentially more powerful then one in 2006

the whole point of them doing layering and starting with so few servers was so they wouldn’t have to do server mergers…

People didn’t want to wait on queues so they massively opened servers, eventually merges will be needed in some form. realm population matters a LOT more on classic then retail

if they do then the whole layering and starting with few servers was pointless…thats not to mention the people that would cry over losing their names…you know the people who paid to reserve names…

We’re not “a few” servers anymore though, people didn’t want to wait and now we have 35 for East and West coast NA alone.

Go outside, turn around and Kick yourself in the d!ck. Already trying to split the community and the games not even been back out for a month…

Stopped reading there, you are wrong.

And I’ve got a classic alt. So how about we just stop this moronic nonsense about people being required to post on a classic alt or it doesn’t matter what they say unless they post on a classic alt. Grow up.

rotsta

Them spinning up a new server to keep people that would otherwise have just unsubbed playing is gaining resources, not wasting them.

again what about the people who reserved names, paid to do so…just f* them?..I can already see the outrage.

The fresh server idea has merit because this launch was a flaming turd bag on a door step. I’d start over to A: not have layers from start, B: avoid streamers all together because it wouldn’t be in vogue to cheat a second time so most wouldn’t bother and C: to have a player economy not ruined by said cheaters. It may not be for everyone but it does have appeal.

I mean, many of those people already got pissy when:

Name day was a disaster and you couldn’t connect to anything
The opened up a set of new servers when everyone was at work
They kept opening new servers making people wonder what name day was even for.

You can’t make everyone happy, but honestly more people would be unhappy with having low server populations then not having their name 2 years from now.

I mean, just to be clear this is after P6 has been rolled out for a bit.

and many were happy that they got their names…so because some were unhappy screw lets piss the rest off?

Did you bother to read the rest of the post?

We’re not talking tomorrow, we’re talking after p6 has long been out and populations are dying because we’ve been farming naxx.

People are going to care more about being able to find groups then having their name they picked over 2 years ago.
