♻ Classic "Restart" after Naxxramas, and F R E S H Servers

Okay, there’s an argument that keeps getting made that I’m confused about. I keep seeing “what then” being thrown around like it means something. After Classic runs its course, what then? After Retail dies, what then?

Look, I know change is difficult and scary but guys, everything has to end. The fact we got classic to begin with is a miracle. One day Blizzard will shut down the WoW servers and we’ll all cry our tears and remember the good and the bad. But we shouldn’t simply rot in stagnation because of fear of the end.

I’m of the oppinion that once Classic runs its course if there’s a big enough demand roll out TBC servers. Once that runs its course roll out WotLK servers. Let people relive the hype. Its making money, and making people happy. Go nuts. Eventually, even the behemoth that is WoW will need to die. May not be this year or even decade. But it will eventually end and life, and gaming, will move on remembering it for eternity.

there wont be any fresh start servers after nax classic is done and the private server players will go back to private servers.

The premise here is, in a way, magical and nonsense thinking, No guild has ever had Naxx on Farm. So the basic premise does not work for me. Even now, very few MC runs on my server are actually guild runs. Most of them are advertised as pugs. “… starting at Garr. Need healers and warlocks. 1 Roll per person. No dkp…” etc. Can you imagine doing BWL or Naxx that way? And as soon they announce BC servers, whats the point of doing anything further anyways? Outland greens were better than many classic epics if you recall. History will repeat itself. My advice—Enjoy visiting the “Classic Museum” quit worrying about 2021.

Yep. I agree this is the best option imo.

If you don’t release a fresh, pop goes back to p servers.
If you don’t keep the current server up people will rage their toons are gone.

It’s not the “Classic only” people who will be shed, my friend.

A new community would take its place though. New players will arrive as long as wow is pushing current content and allowing people to play classic on the same subscription. People are just going to try it out and some will stay.

Well not really. P-servers were amazingly popular but by any reasonable estimate I’ve seen classic has many times as many players as the p-servers. Most of us playing classic never played on a p-server and when classic and what ever expansions they release are done most of us will go back to not playing on a p-server. Just like we were not doing before classic was released.

No.
Sony - now Daybreak - progression servers all go into a steep decline after reaching a certain point in the expansion cycle (usually after Gates of Discord) OR when Sony/Daybreak releases a F R E S H progression server.
People want the nostalgia evidently. The only one to get this was Project 1999.

They are lunatics that’s why, people on my server were level 60 in 3 or 4 days. an entire guild.

Also, this is the company that took EverQuest Next - which should have been Sony’s version of Classic (what a massive missed opportunity) - screwed it into the tool that was being used to build it instead the game itself i.e. Landmark because the suits there couldn’t stop their own egos, and then pooped it out the bottom of the industry into the “quietly cancelled” bucket. I wouldn’t take what they’ve done as an example of anything except impending failure.

My whole guild did in less than a day and we has enough time left over to do MC

Wrong. I, and many others, prefer classic.

I believe they prefer to be called “Masochists”; they percieve pain as pleasurable.

I don’t really get it either… but that was the behavior of most of the pserver players it seemed. Grind, win, regrind, win, regrind. Always flocking to the new shiny server… abandoning what they had built on the old one.

I will tell you my choice now.

I wont pick TBC. I would rather play WoW classic.

I don’t wanna get my character deleted, and by the way wrath is better than tbc.

These #Fresh pserver advocates are toxic. Trust me because I am from there. They do not care about everyone else.

Just their own sadistical need to regrind everything again and wiping out everyone’s hard earned progression. The community was powerless to stop them then, but we can sure as hell do something about it now by spitting wherever forum thread they go to and chop their balls off before they spill their seed.

Sorry if I sound violent but these #FreshCucks are rabid dogs that need to be put down.

just make a new character and start over somewhere, we don’t need fresh servers, the game is going to be around a very long time with no changes, so you will be able to catch up eventually.

I would say if someone has tried all current content they would still stay, but obviously wont put in that much hours as someone grinding to prepare for naxx oe aq. Prolly juat hop on to pvp interact or make aome gold.

And even then, thta can take quite some time.
Dont forget pvp in open world and BG back then took some time.

The success of classic will spur demand for TBC/WOTLK or a new fork so i would say it is likely.
