Classic Oceanic Servers

I think that’s fair tbh. Doesn’t have to give us numbers but at least an idea whether or not there will be Oceanic servers. As stated in my original post, there are people who won’t play if there isn’t; so why not give us peace of mind?

Exactly, PvP rollout plans, av, content phases, NONE of that matters in comparison to whether the game is going to be released in our country or not to be able to even play it in the first place. (Most if not all of us Cannot/Will not play at 300ms again knowing that the infrastructure now exists to give us the same experience, just comes down to a long table board decision on whether we should be shafted or not for the sake of it)

Really hoping for at least, one pve, pvp and rp server for oceanic.

I would settle for 1 PvP oceanic server please. Hell we may even need more than 1.

The problem is that, if pessimistic posters are right, they may only have 3-6 servers. And then they’d likely not have Oceanic.

Until they have an idea of numbers, they can’t commit to having them in specific areas.

Blizzard really does seem they want to do less work over-all, thinks this project won’t do well at all after the first few months. Though it’s strange since the Demo even had about 20 servers.

EU is getting there own servers, (Unsure if it’s only English.) so i’m not sure why OCE couldn’t get four server for every type or just 3, if they don’t do RP-PVP (Personally i’d assume those would get packed quickly and force blizzard to open up more.)

Hope so too!
Only slightly annoying thing is if they add in cross realm BGs and we get put into US bgs with 250ms+ that will suck… BUT if it is cross realm with ONLY oceanic servers then i would be happy AF

Definitely good points there. I’m with on you that bud.

Yeah I think that will be what we get as a bare minimum at least. If they need to they can add servers later.

If we do get dedicated oce servers I can’t see them cross realm with different regions personally. Wouldn’t make sense.

I think two servers, one PVE and one PVP, is a good starting point. Four seems overkill but maybe I’m underestimating the popularity of Classic. They will be over-crowded in the early days of Classic but at least will stay a healthy population after the tourists leave.

There are no retail RP Oceanic servers so I can’t see it being a thing in Classic. Sorry to the Oceanic players planning on role-playing.

RP would be nice. I’ll settle for OCE servers in general to begin with. Would love to play on a low ping RP server though, big into dnd these days and would love to try out RP in wow.

We’ll definitely need more than one pvp server, if they are keeping server pops similar to vanilla.

i can see huge crowding in the first week and once people see they actually have to work to lvl up and that there is limited hand holding, have to work for gear alot will stop playing. so i would think everyone on 1 cluster of servers would be the correct approach with more servers on launch just in case there is huge demand with the plan to merge all servers of the same type together when the population
stabilized. cannot see our small region having the numbers to have decent populated servers in the long run. Plus ping to us servers is no longer as bad as it used to be and this game ping does not effect much unless its round 800 or so.

Playing with any ping higher than 100 is actually extremely frustrating now that we have tasted how good it could be, especially as a melee class.

If they cap servers at 4-6k players, 2 servers will be nowhere near enough… lol
The amount of oceanic players will be enough to fill multiple servers for sure

Spell batching makes higher latency slightly more tolerable, especially in comparison to modern wow where latency is more important… BUT you are right it is still very annoying and a disadvantage

That’s what I’ve been thinking. Although that number can change if we don’t get local oce servers which is my concern. There’s a massive demographic in the oven region which I how they don’t look past.

Not sure if you played vanilla or not, but having a 340ms most assuredly affects almost every aspect of gameplay. Having had Oceanic servers for many years and seeing the difference, going back to 300+ or even 200+ will prevent a number of people from playing on that aspect alone.

Latency is a huge factor in all online pvp games, and WoW is no different. It was really eye-opening the first time I loaded up my transferred characters on an Oceanic server and saw how it affected movement and action.

In vanilla I couldn’t fish unless it was in the midnight hours due to the latency causing the fish to have gone before my click would register. Playing on a US server won’t be as bad these days as internet has improved in general, however it is still a big factor for many of us - especially those still on ADSL.

Coincidentally though, my NBN connection is supposed to be happening in June (bloody good timing) so my 2.6MBps will hopefully, at least, triple.

Yeah this. It will just straight up turn people off the game, im excited to play rogue purely because i did in vanilla and it was frustrating.

Don’t hold your breath on that :frowning:

A cap of 4k means all at once, doesn’t it? Assuming 40% of players are logging in at peak every night, the server is safely supporting 10k players. So 2 servers is covering 20k players…Maybe you’re right, we need more lol.

+1 Oceanic Servers. (+1000 for an RP Oceanic server )
Same boat as some of you, if there are no Oceanic servers, I will not be playing.
