Classic items that will last in tbc?

Seems like it’s just off slot pieces that drop from Seph and KT… plus few EoM trinkets.

Rest get replaced with tbc blues pretty fast due to inflated mainstats.

Am I missing anything else?

Seventyupgrades. com

you can adjust the stat weights but shows nicely what items would be “strong” even in tbc

A lot of Naxx gear is fairly comparable to non-crafted pre-raid bis. But the biggest prize is Mark of the Champion from phylactery. That item lasts the longest of any item from Vanilla. Also sapph enchants are good to have if you can get them, particularly for tanks.

Neltharion’s Tear and DFT are still good for a while.

Non-class-specific Trinkets from BWL:

  • DFT
  • Styleen’s
  • Rejuv Gem
  • Nelth Tear

Sapph Shoulder Enchants
KT’s Phylactery

These are pretty much universally long lasting regardless of class/spec/role, with Sapph Enchants and KT’s Phylactery lasting to Sunwell.

For class specific odds and ends, you’ll just have to look up your preferred class/spec and see. For Druids, the Mark of Tyranny is one of our strongest EH trinkets until the DMF cards come out, but a lot of Druids didn’t take it in favor of Blackhand’s Breadth.

IIRC Blue Dragon (DMF) is pretty strong for some healers.

Pretty sure the kt trinket is still viable in tier7 for Nax 10/25 just due to the raw ap vs undead

Fasciae what do u think about Badge of the swarmguard paired with the dungeon 4-set hunter ArP bonus?

Amazing honestly. I forget about Badge because I don’t have one but for any class that enjoys ArP, it will work fantastically well. If 25m raids run Improved Expose Armor with Curse of Recklessness and Faerie Fire, as opposed to just Sunder, it makes all additional forms of ArP that much better.

The common Armor for most TBC bosses is something around 7.7k (I think), with Voidreaver being 8.8k or so and some “caster” type bosses only having like 6.8k or so. Imp. Expose is 3075 ArP (2050 + 50% from talents) whereas Sunder is 2600 ArP (520 x5), FF is 610, CoR is 800, so even with Imp. Expose there is quite a bit of ArP to chew through.

Thunderfury is supposed to be good for tanks. Or was it nerfed?

annihilator axe (bosses)
SM ravager axe (ret/arms/enh destroys large trash packs)

It got nerfed pretty heavily but the proc is still super nice because it is the same debuff as improved thunder clap, letting your Warrior put points elsewhere.

I think most people going into Kara/Gruul for the first week or two are still going to be wearing a few pieces of lvl 60 gear. Some Trinkets specifically hold up really well at 70 and won’t be replaced until BoJ/Gruul gear and most Naxx gear is strong enough to fill the gaps not filled by Heroics and Crafted gear in the early weeks.

What I’m more interested in is how the consumables market will evolve in TBC, a lot of the utility potions we have now are still useful at 70 for PvP especially and with far less people gathering those materials I can see them being quite costly.

From what I remember you can’t use those utility potions in arenas and BG’s. Unless that made that change post BC

It’s for bgs, not arenas. But it’s waste really. Bgs are pretty easy.
