If they decide to move forward they need to touch up TBC/WolK with Classic in mind!
Otherwise its just watching the game go to crap all over again.

The only assumption I think Iāve made is that Classic Wrath would not do well compared to Classic WoW.
I am going to repeat myself here:
We want TBC the way TBC was when it was the main game BECAUSE we liked that version. If you want to change it or make it part of the current classic version, then it makes as much sense to make Classic play with Retail mechanics.
Yet, in the OP, you talk about people flying away from city raids whichā¦ doesnāt happen in TBC or WotLKā¦
So yeah, it does seem like youāre assuming that people want it to keep going beyond that.
Point taken. Iām one of those people. I also happen to know thereās plenty of WPvP on normal servers with flying. But for those that want to dig their heals in the ground about flying destroying WPvP this is a viable option for them.
What are you talking about?
Bah, nm, mistook you for the OP for some reason. Which does talk about that.
Probably he didnt play during Vanilla, TBC, or Wrath when YOU COULDNT FLY FROM THE CAPITAL CITES and the guards in the main hubs in TBC and Wrath would murder you for doing it.
He has a point.
So you do TBC and WOTLKā¦ then what?
At some point you have to float classic + because none of us are interested in cata.
Some of the people who start trolling threads, just in general, donāt even play the game at all.
Wpvp died in BC because there was enough end game to keep people busy and people on PvP servers had something else to do.
cough BG cough
cough arena cough
The reason wpvp was so popular was because the end game was weak. Hardly anybody raided. Do you have numbers for bgs and arenas?
It is commonly said that instanced pvp killed wpvp. So which is it?
Why? People want to play those versions of the gameā¦ some will lose interest and others will fill in, etc.
When I play an old Mario because I like the old Mario, I donāt feel like I need Nintendo to develop new content for it.
The point is regardless of whether or not they do TBC and WOTLK, they will still be faced with having to make a decision on classic+.
No one wants to play cata. Classic + is something they will have to face eventually. He makes a great point.
Translation: I know TBC is wildly more popular than classic MY FAVORITE so in order for me to relive my dreams I canāt allow you to live yours!
Who knows. That was 10-15 years ago.
At this point, with all the wrong things I have seem people say about that time, I have no choice but to think most saying they want Classic+ didnt start playing WoW until Cata or only played on private servers.
Unfortunately, given the increased emphasis on grouping to level, few new players will be able to join classic in progress and level up. Vanilla was advertised as the game anyone could play at any time. Now in a lot of zones it is hard to find groups as some zones have become almost abandoned during off hours.
You can literally solo to endgame <.<
Indeed you can, as long as you frequently change zones and do lots of mob grinding.
I dare you to put a character in Hillsbrad Foothills and solo the Battle for Hillsbrad quest chain at level.
Quests which were āeasily soloableā, according to vanilla era comments, no longer are.
It depends on what people mean by classic+ as to whether itās a good idea or not. The original āclassicā 15 years ago was always changing, so change was actually part of the āClassicā experience. The prospect of something new kept a majority of players around for years and helped GROW the population over time. Sure, the current classic is popular but what about a year or two from now? Also, without new things coming out, what is going to bring new players in or old players back?
Itās obviously hard to accept change but not all change is bad. It is entirely possible to keep the classic experience without turning the game into retail again. Would it hurt the game to have more alternative specs for classes? Would it hurt the game to add more challenging raids with gear that is on par with stuff you can get in current raids?
-If they do anything I do think it should be like a year or two down the road. Iām also not sure if the current Blizzard knows how to add content to classic without turning it into more like retail.
