Classic Hardcore and Griefing

Why should someone be tricked into PvP when they dont want to PvP? Thats why they are playing on PvE/RP to not PvP.

Hc servers are a griefers paradise.

I agree. Pay attention so it doesnt happen!

It’s a matter of how the game works. Not paying attention. Is it avoidable, sure. But is that how the game should work? No.

PvP on PvP servers. PvE/RP servers are meant to be free of PvP unless you want to engage. Being tricked into it isn’t good game play, more so when it’s going to erase days of gameplay.

It happens to more than just Flight Masters. A rogue can sneak on your mob and force you to attack him before you attack the mob.

It seems so, although I haven’t experienced it yet. But I don’t quest in the human zones.

It’s always been this way. Has it changed in retail? Just curious.

yes you have to opt into war mode. If youre not in war mode you cant attack the other faction.

Interesting, thanks for the info.
So you’re thinking a HC server with that feature perhaps.

War Mode seems like a good solution for the Hardcore server and the Hardcore server only.

Since there are some who want to actually engage in PvP it gives those players that option while solving the problem with forced PvP griefing.

War mode has no place on non hardcore servers.

I guess it sucks since he’s HC but I had that happen to me in original vanilla and thought it was funny as hell. Was running around in Gadgetzan and saw a yellow guy next to the repair guy and I was wondering who was I still nuetral with so I clicked him, took a swipe and flagged. Was laughing my butt off as I ran into the desert to lose the guards. Whoops, it happens when you don’t pay attention.

Yeah, we’re talking about Hardcore now though. All your progress is going to be wiped because of how the old game works for a new game mode.

The game was never intended to be played Hardcore. This is something that will have to be resolved before official Hardcore servers are let loose. Otherwise youre going to see it all the time. Players with 3-5+ days played dying to Rogue griefers because PvE / RP allows you attack someone when you DO NOT want to engage in PvP.

I like the War Mode solution. It provides those who want to play PvP Hardcore game mode and solves the problem with Rogues forcing players into PvP.

Would have to agree. PVP would have to be completely disabled on a HC server. Right now though, they, and he, should be very careful where and what you do. I think that was his fault for not paying attention still.

HC needs a sense of dangers and villains in it. If you cant avoid these things then you dont deserve 60. Half of the ppl there die before level 10 and want to appeal…Being bad at the easiest form of WoW says alot about classic players.

I can see the merit to both sides of the argument. Personally I like the added danger of dragons, you interact with the other players communicating about the danger. The click thing I’m neutral on, it’s just retraining yourself to always use the left.
I think you’ll see a lot less of this on a HC auto delete server where everyone has to face starting over.

No reason to change it then imo.

Just wait for the HC realm and stop trying to change things otherwise.

Great name lol

What would you call a server like that?

Softcore?

Checking IQs, apparently.

The game ain’t getting changed for your custom game mode bro.

That is insane though, stealthed flagged guy on the flight master with Teremus right there to make you panic and try to click fast.

Are all HC players entitled and rude, or is it just you?

As has already been pointed out, there is a UI setting that completely removes this scenario from the realm of possibility. Maybe if the streamer had been forced to accept his death, he would have learned.

Because “hardcore” players aren’t actually very hardcore at all.

You think I’m rude and not the person who is literally mocking other tastes? Yeah sure you’re totally impartial and not hypocrite at all.
