You’re making it pretty clear you have no idea what you’re talking about. Nobody has a 10k+ gold check except maybe for Naxxramas.
Those versions are dead to me because they are literal pay to win versions of WoW. This is a symptom of the sad state of today’s Blizzard and the gaming industry in general. This is one of the many reasons I only play Era.

Of course there are reasons. DKP doesn’t buy your consumables. DKP doesn’t transfer to the other run you want to do with another guild. DKP requires other tools to manage it and more time to manage. DKP makes it more difficult to recruit people for a raid last minute since the DKP is locked in a specific group.
That’s the whole point right there that gdkpers are missing about the argument against gdkp.

No one believes that you have a static 40 with “casual” players who are dedicated to “grinding gold” that is used to pay your “good” players. Which is impossible on Era since even if you found a bugged dreamfoil node that never despawns and you could farm dozens of stacks of dreamfoil per hour, it would still be less gold/hour than doing Naxx GDKP.
If people could make the money for a Naxx GDKP by grinding gold, then people wouldn’t be running Naxx GDKP. GDKP raids rely on the fact that the gold itself is not easy to get. No one would show up for a gold raid if they could just farm some herbs and get the same amount of gold.
Sure. I mean I get the idea that someone could say that someone buys gold and uses it to bid on items, which makes it different from DKP in that regard, since you cannot buy regular DKP from a third party and use it in a raid to bid on gear.
While personally I think a ban on GDKP is silly, and doesn’t address the “issue” (if it is an issue) of people buying gold from third parties, which could be better enforced/regulated by Blizzard, imo. But some people really seem to like the idea of a GDKP ban, so it’s great that they are doing this for some realms and not for others (Era, specifically does not have a GDKP ban).
