never said it wasnt. Gold wipes are healthy, thats why private servers that have been Online in the same era for more than a decade do a gold wipe every year or else youll have crazy inflation. i remember paying almost 8k for a flask on a Era private server right before the gold wipe happened. after that it was 75 -100g per flask.
Correct.
Which private servers. Iâve known most servers since they were even a thing. I mean from the very beginning of the scene and I even know of the ones launching soon and closing soon
Any names for servers who leave the servers up âforeverâ in p6?
Just one server.
Because I donât know of a single server that just âstays online forever in p6â
The only servers like that are custom servers for BG use and the like. They donât have economies
Gold wipes wouldnât even be needed in a game like this if it was meant to be stagnant, never ending and never growing/progressing.
Everyone are trying to brainstorm ways to âfixâ era now claiming gold wipes etc. a gold wipe is unrealistic and trying to make something fresh without saying âfresh whenâ
Max geartoons have nothing better to do but run gdkps to amass gold. What are they gonna do when you remove that from them? Gold is quite literally the only progression there is on era once youâre at the top, full bis, etc
A gold wipe is not going to do what you think itâll do
Thatâs like doing a gear wipe. Clear all max geared naxx toons periodically to a lower tier or prebis.
Bandaid over a severance.
Itâs a subconscious recognition for the need to âfreshâ or roll things back.
Here is the obvious reason a fresh server will not accomplish anything:
What is the current record of 0-60? 2.7 days of playing time? If you think that is a one off, you had better guess again. And to top it off, there is video descriptions of what took place, each step taken to maximize their XP gains, etc.
Second reason:
You can level most professions by what, lvl 40 at most? Then you have a mount, and let the farming begin.
Third:
You create a guild, spam the crap out of every newcomer you see come around, and soon you will have 20 or so Core players, if not more. You take that a step further, and help each other out, collectively share materials, and all but tell everyone in the guild to send stuff to the guild banks instead of building up the AH trade, and you have the market cornered.
Basically, a wipe would be good just until you get a good core of 60âs farming, and then you are right back where you started.
Wishful thinking it is.
I would add that there is no reason they canât keep the current Classic servers and move characters from the seasonal servers to the current Classic servers when fresh are launched. As you said the current servers are fubarâd anyway and only the p2w crowd enjoy them. This way everyone has a place to play. Cheers!
They are gold sellers now. How can you NOT blame them?
Gold buying was caused by inflation which was caused by bots and exacerbated by people selling raid drops for gold. Blizzard is responsible because they let it happen and then theyre going to bank on it with wow token eventually.
Goodbye guys its been nice. Going to fresh pvp turtle wow server this friday.
Good luck basically advertising a Pserver on the forums⊠Ban incoming.
They donât ban for talking about pservers
The average ânewâ player in era gets 0-60 in just 3 days. Strong majority are like this.
3 days play time with boosting mara and ZG maybe. And those boosters are fueled by RMT.
By what? Boosting? it can take up to 100 hours min for a class to get 60 solo. Fastest Iâve seen legit solo was a mage at 70 something hours on Mankrik.
Erasing ERA and starting fresh will definitely bring back players and vitality. But it shouldnât be done until logins to ERA (that are not related to new products) show steady decline. If weâve reached that point, fresh is the way. If we havenât, letâs wait a bit longer. Thatâs my two cents.
players love playing the same thing over and over. and itâs cheap to maintain.
I feel a one-time buy-in fee for each new re-release should be charged though. To make it feel authentic and all.
this is a statement
I feel like youâre attempting to troll, but if Blizzard was going to guarantee an Era server with no bots and no RMT, I would pay my regionâs original Vanilla sticker price to gain access to it. Even if it ended up being super low pop that would still be better.
*EDIT: Actually, I know you said for authenticity (which is why I said the original sticker price), but Iâd even pay the going rate of $90 CDN for a AAA game for access to this.
Make it by invitation only to long-standing accounts that were created between 2004 and 2006 and have remained active for at least 60% of the time from then until now.
Ok, thatâs how much it costs. Now, how much do things that you farm or services that you provide sell for? Also more. Making it irrelevant.
No fresh. Loving Era. Ty anyway.
There is no classic realm. None of them are anything like that content when it was live on retail. We all should know this by now.
There is only one WoW and that is the retail version. Taking away from itâs development to appease the vocal minority and create these mutated, heavily tweaked versions of classic content, is not helping anyone.
The sooner they are all shut down the better. Focus on real WoW, not sort-of-but-not-really WoW.
You know Retail is just a mutated, heavily tweaked version of classic content, right?
