On that we can both agree.

I log on era wsg weekend. Except this last one due to irl. Either on this shaman or my battered blue geared priest. Usually the priest. I haven’t lost a single wsg game queing into alliance with a couple of my boys. Your point?

Very worrying news. Id strongly prefer no changes at all. Just leave it to bug fixes.

Just at the VERY least, dont make it incredibly easy to get all the PvP gear. The PvP gear is meant to be an accomplishment, its built to be a top 1% reward. At the very least, keep a system that does that. I understand better than most that R14 grind is very toxic due to competition and things like bloating need to be fixed, but people need to stop thinking that theyre absolutely special and deserve every single item in the game. Some things are out of reach for people, that keeps interest in the game, theres always some things that you can reach for. As someone thats been playing continuously for the last 4 years, theres still plenty for me to do in this game. Please stop nerfing content so you can just blast through everything like retail.

The Blizzard MO is always to nerf the crap out of things and just make content free, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT DO THIS. This is what killed retail. This is the kind of change that will kill Classic for me, someone with 8 Naxx geared characters that just wants to keep playing and building up my characters. This is one of the issues that seriously makes me think of quitting.

THIS! 100%

I like how 2-3 hour a week content dictates the reward system of a game mode that has revolving door content lol.

ESO had a decent idea. Hide the strong rewards behind a RNG weekly vendor. Maybe a weekend event for the zone that holds one of the 3 BGs, and put a random weapon or armor piece. So you cant buy everything up right away, you can add wpvp objectives for those points to purchase (so its not just a boring tbc/wrath arena point retail ripoff) and it will take you forever because the RNG will be a 1/8 chance and it will include the blue/purples versions so really a 1/16 chance to get what you want.

I agree with you that it shouldn’t be handed out. However, I’ve never understood what the “accomplishment” of ranking is? Congrats! You were able to no-life the longest.

The number of high rank players I’ve had to explain some of the most basic jumps to, explain blessing of sac to rank 13 paladins, etc. is only proof to me that the bar for this accomplishment is just time.

And let’s be honest, rolling pugs for 18+ hours a day isn’t exactly skill intensive. Hell, how many games against other premades were “let’s clash and see how it goes” or “we have instant queues, let them have it.” just to avoid any actual skill testing games.

Maybe set each blue piece of gear to 200k honor. You can upgrade it to epic for 2 million honor. Weapons are 5 million honor but only if you have the full epic armor set.

Still probably slower than getting Naxx gear, but anyone can work towards it. That’s an equitable system.

It’s not really about the difficulty to attain it, it’s more keeping strong items rare, so there is a real sense of accomplishment. And locking items behind effort/time. I think it’s good that it’s mathematically out of reach for many players cuz no one needs wow items to survive.

Not everyone needs bis

If they encourage people who can’t normally rank high to have a goal to reach then idc what they do

No, but why is PvP gear kept arbitrarily difficult. If a person spends 90% of their play time doing BGs, they should be able to get the best gear that BGs offer, especially when era BGs aren’t really about skill testing like arena and rbgs.

Have we actually reached the point of “I suffered to get that gear so you should too”?

I wouldn’t be mad if a form of rbg was in som2

I think that would be very cool, although getting good, consistent wargames has been a disaster, so I’m not sure how much rbgs would fire, or if a horde team would just run away with wins and ally would stop queueing.

So either an increase in rank earned , effective cutoffs, or rank decay. This might work as people really do love finding an rng free way of getting gear. Though requiring r14 gear for mc might be expected if that is the case.

Everything you get done in the game is an accomplisment, theres different tiers of it everywhere. Level 60 is an accomplishment, which is already being ruined by boosting, if they want to start making changes, start with nerfing that.

Not every item needs to be gained by everyone. Thats the point of having different tiers of gear and different rewards that are more difficult to obtain than others. If R14 is unobtainable, maybe you can be R13, even that can be a great accomplishment you can be proud of. Watering it down and letting everyone get it makes it less of an accomplishment for people that do. Not having anything to work towards eliminates the point of trying to build up an RPG character and gives no incentive to play the game.

By making things easier and making everything accessible to everyone, blizzard continues to reduce incentive to play

Hard disagree. Requiring millions of honor doesn’t cheapen anything. It incentivizes premades to continue just as they have been to get maximum honor, and those people who can only premade occasionally, or want to slow pug their way to rewards because pvp is their favorite thing to do @ 50k honor a week cheapens nothing.

Imagine someone enjoying PvE and raiding every week, but being told they can never get better gear. That’s’ exactly what you are doing to dedicated PvP players.

I’m convinced people like you are just gatekeeping with no actual justifiable reason other than some innate no-life elitism.

DONT TRUST BLIZZARD, THEY WILL MAKE THE GAME LIKE RETAIL IF U LET THEM!!
Im hearing some rumors about them implementing changes simlar to retail on honor system

This should be to correct the Season of Mastery ranking progression rate that bled over to Classic Era during Season of Mastery, returning the correct ranking progression rate to Classic Era and nothing more.

Please, no future bleed over of seasonal content into Classic Era. This includes the honor system, raid features, inflated gold from players transferring, etc.

Thanks!

make people learn to be good. era/classic wsg can uphold the same standards as high ranking arena players but its a diff game mode. bring those rank 1s to wsg, i am thirsty for a challenge

Maybe they are going to remove the ability to use cross-realm pools that inflates ranking spots or return to pre-SoM ranking speed.

Would be cool if they changed the honor system completely to something that is still difficult but doesn’t include decay but I don’t think Blizz will go that far.
