I have only ranked to r11 or so - I would agree to get to lower ranks is easy-ish, I would disagree it’s easier than raiding in terms of time commitment (assuming you have enough gear to get in the raid). I don’t see casual dads ranking to r14. The issue I have is you have to be able to consistently build towards it over the 6 week (no bracket breaking) cycle, you cannot achieve it over a discontinuous effort. I’m not endorsing that it should be easy but I think the type of effort should be shifted away from one where you are required to commit to X hours of play per week in a mounting fashion. Don’t even get me started on running sands or paying others to run for you… not very casual.

I’m back into Era now. My paladin is about to ding 47, and I’ll probably want to PvP when I hit 60 (haven’t died yet, so no BGs until I kick the bucket at least once, or 60… whichever’s first.)
As it stands, I would only hope to hit rank 10. If they give us a nice overhaul that allows us to grind our way up casually, I’ll be all over that.

ive ranked 2 characters to R14 recently in the last 8 months and yeah id say its easier than raiding to get a full set, with the pooling people are doing and the way people stack for it, makes it pretty easy does it take time yes, but id say no more than to raid it takes about 16-20 hours of farming consumes for naxx alone let alone if you raid everything else and use consumes for them aswell, so yeah id say they take about the same amount of effort but in about 2 months of pvp you can have a full set and weapons as in pvp you might get a few pieces in that amount of time
Except you don’t. You only have to push hard the last 2 weeks.

Because purely the thought of them changing the game and catering to a group of people who choose to play the game in a completely unintended way for their own personal hardship, is just mind blowing and what Ruined WOW the first time around people who actually play don’t want changes and they mean it. If someone wants to play HC dont expect the game to cater to you that’s not the point of HC, in OSRS when people say HC Ironman is to hard they show them how to deactivate the settings not change the game for everyone else. This is just more toxic Blizzard trying to kill classic

It’s Classic era, who cares? Era is in the Naxx stage. Maybe it will help with people wanting to raid AQ 40, Naxx and BWL easier. Not to mention the activity it will spur for BGs.

You need to be able to hit your brackets each week, which is not a trivial “easy process” especially if you’re pushing for a 6 week cycle.
You can GDKP your way to affording consumes pretty easily, you can also raid log while getting raid gear which is chill. Anyway, my point is clear in the different types of effort required. We don’t view this game through the same lense.
It is actually pretty trivial until you hit rank 10+. If you haven’t ranked in Classic Era you’d have no idea how easy it is relative to original vanilla or pre-era.
My first 3 weeks I didn’t surpass 100k honor. Week 4 I hit 200k honor and week 5 I hit 300k honor.
Ranking in Classic Era is EXTREMELY easy.
Admittedly I took a break from era for a few months and came back recently - but I am well aware of the SoM system and how it functions. Ranking in classic era is easier than traditionally with that system in regards to the time interval it takes, but it functions identically aside from the abbrieviated form. I propose the process should be something you can chip away at over a longer time - not that it be easy. But it seems we will have to agree to disagree.

We’re on the Naxx patch. What does it matter?
well since you have never ranked and from the sound of it have definitely sounds like it was recently, and don’t know the system, you can get R5 in the first week and you don’t even need that high of a standing just need enough poolers, random people would go in a match or 2 and next week be like wow I’m rank 5 already! you can literally coast to rank11 pvping prob less than your raid times, and only when you got into R12-13 did you really need to push also don’t need to farm consumes to pvp or get gold from gold buyers in gdkp’s
I understand perfectly well the functionality of the SoM system - it’s just the usual system in half the time (and the corresponding implications of that on RP gain and decay).

You know what sucks this news has basically killed PvP participation atm just 1 group of WSG going right now when at this time before the news there were 4+. It’s just 4 5 mans win trading at the moment lmao.
Could they speed it up a bit f____ hell see yas in 2 months. If the change is good.
