Classic Clone price seems a little steep

Just saying, $35 to clone a character to maintain them on both Classic and TBC?
That seems steep.
Maybe not for those who only want to keep one big main on each but for someone like myself who has three characters they want to maintain on both that’s over $100. I can only imagine someone who prepared five or more. . .
I can easily see $20 to $25 maybe, but $35?

Not sure, what’s your opinion fellow Classic forumers?

It is, many of us agree and are willing to see how in the wrong Blizzard is here, the criticism is warranted.

Just be aware that a Rogue and Monk are lurking and will drop in this thread soon to defend Blizzards honor.

Agreed.

EDIT: And, I’m thankful you’re not one of those cheapskates advocating for $10 (or even $5).

Thanks for the heads up.

Maybe they could offer a bundle service at a discount?

What type of bundle service are you thinking about?

I can see something like that yes.

Maybe like $35 for 1 character, or $80 for 3, just off the top of my head. Something along those lines

I don’t see an issue with it, why shouldn’t they try and make some cash off of people wanting to experience two expansions at once? This is a totally new thing, never happened in the past…

Sure, but I still like the OP’s idea, too. it’s not like they’re asking for $10 or $5.

I have no issues with the company wanting to make money which is why (even though, I agree that $35 is steep) I’m against making the service $10 or $5 lime some (not all) cheapskates want. What this particular OP is asking for is still in line with giving the company money but not as cheap as some (not all) others.

EDIT: Also, I’m not one of those against the Store Mount nor Store. So, yeah, I find nothing wrong with the Company trying to make money, here.

Not complaining about paying, but 35 is steep. Maybe not if only moving one character, but what if you wanted 5? That’s $175! 3 is 105.

I like both your idea, and Faelis’ idea. 'Cause I’m on the Sub Discount plan, so I don’t mind some bundle and/or deal plan. I’m hopeful, that they’ll have a sale of some kind or something, in the future, but we’ll see :woman_shrugging:

35$ is almost as much as the retail version costs. It’s insane to sell a character service for as much as a full game. 15-20$ is reasonable but as of now this price is ridiculous.

Not saying you are complaining. It’s a new thing, this cloning has never happened in the past and it’s supply and demand, do I think it’s too much? Yea I’ve always thought most of the services were overpriced, considering it’s literally a few buttons clicked.

The Standard Game has a Character Copy Service?

Even the BC’s Level Boost isn’t the Standard’s Game price.

Standard Game Level Boost - $60 USD
BC Level Boost - $39.99 USD

And, BC’s Character Copy is hardly a discount from the Level 58 Boost at $35 USD. Like a 5 dollar difference? Really?

And, aren’t the Server Transfers like $20 USD or something? Or is $25 USD? I can’t remember.

no one said the retail version has a character copy service. can you read? shadowlands costs 40$ standard. they want 35$ to copy a character. That’s almost as much as the retail version of the game.

You said:

Thought that implied Character Copy.

Ah, now I see. You’re equating to paying for a character as paying for the game, gotcha.

Problem with this analogy is we’re not paying for a Game. Yet another false equivalence.

I don’t know about you but, like most other people I have bought every expansion. we also pay a sub fee. 35$ per character is crazy. if it was 35$ to copy all your characters it would be okay, however its per character, which means when all is said and done you’re paying more than the cost of a full game just to keep 2 of your characters. I don’t understand all the blizzard fan boys that defend everything the company does. its cash grab after cash grab and its going to destroy the game like it did to retail.

Ah, now I see what you’re saying. Gotcha. A little miscommunication LOL

Anyway, I don’t mind the “microtransactions”, per se. They can handle it better, like this OP suggests.
