Classic characters permanently deleted?

That if you decide to take a job in the taxpayer dime to go fight in pointless wars that you may miss out on video games. Glad they taught you to whine about pointless stuff at least. My taxpayer dollars at work.

Actually when you are deployed you can actually play online games, in the US at least.

they pay the same taxes, we are all in the same system, they pay just as much tax as you. try again.

exactly. we don’t have to spend every waking moment waiting for blizz to announce these types of things. they should be able to be trusted to not do this.

you would think, its still so backwards how they went about it. They can easily fix it and we all know how, just bring them back blizz…its not that hard, they just dont want to go through the effort.

What part of “The Data has been permanently deleted” do you not understand?

I just want to point out that everybody saying the clones are deleted are just plain wrong.

A) Blizzard has already admitted to the data still being there

B) The clones accidently re-appeared in december 2022 which was even more proof that the data is still there if you didn’t believe blizzards own words.

Please bring back the clones and stop posting misinformation about them

Where can I find sources for both?

I don’t know how I’m supposed to post proof when blizz forums don’t let you post links…any ideas? I have 2 image links with proof

Can you link that information please.

No, they never.

You first.

Upload to imgur and use the preformatted text </> option in the post. Oh, and they had better be official links not just to someone’s fake reddit post.

my toons were also moved without my knowledge. please give us the option to play them on classic era again.

The only “proof” I’ve found is some guy claiming on a reddit post that he could see his characters still and offered no screenshots or anything to back up the claim

They weren’t moved at all, they are exactly where you left them on progression realms.

There is only one way that could happen, if they deleted them before the purge then restored them after the service was over, even then they are still inactive.

I’m on the side Blizzard has deleted them as they have published in an OFFICIAL blue post. They keep trying to push the burden of proof onto us, when they should be offering proof they aren’t deleted themselves.

Except we can prove what Blizzard have said about them being gone forever, they just say “no they’re not” like conspiracy theorists with no proof.

That’s exactly what I’m saying :joy:

May 14th 2022, right after they announced it via their website News page on May 13th.

The WoW: Burning Crusade Classic Character Clone Service is Retiring Soon — World of Warcraft — Blizzard News

My email receipts show June 2nd to July 6th. I wanted to space the transactions out, for the 16 different characters across two accounts, so the credit card company wouldn’t flag anything for too many transactions over a short period of time.

I have proof they aren’t deleted but I am unsure of how to post it since blizzard forums don’t let you share links

Have any of you tried contacting Soltzman in Blizzard’s accounting department? I’ve heard of a prophecy that all your characters are stored on a one-gig flash drive, in his possession.

It’s said that the flash drive is in his desk, top left drawer, inside a lock box. Just call customer support and ask to speak with Soltzman in accounting; or you could just hire a rogue with a lockpicking skill above 275.

Higher forum trust levels can share links but for now, you can just include the address with a few “obvious” spaces or I think there’s a way to do it with " " symbols or something that I’ve never had to do so I’m not sure.

My personal opinion is that I have the four clones I want (one I got with the $5 sale) but I don’t care if other people get theirs. I’m not actually sure if they are in the database now though. With that being said it is probably more productive to level and try to gear up again, but I get why people want their old toons back, especially the ones that didn’t know they’d be migrated to tbcc/Wrath c.
