Classic Bots

I can’t be the only one competing with multiple bots for resources. Any ideas for getting these bots banned the best way possible?

Report any and all suspects, either that or it will become a game like it was when it was rampant in Wrath and Cataclysm. Players eventually say if I cant beat them I will join them.

no kidding, a real live support ticket takes 2 days now??

They seem to be uninterested in slamming bots then is my guess. I just took a look on [Edited by Blizzard] and they are definitely selling bots that farm AV, rotation bots and support bots that control your Multiboxing… its sad

It would be so easy to remove most of these accounts too since they so easily are spotted from the way they constantly move between nodes and scan.

Hey guys - infinitely experienced in this matter. I’m not allowed to say why since it violates forum policy.

Anyway, as someone who worked in Austin during a busier period at one time, I can tell you how this works.

Previously bots were investigated by the ticket and anti-cheat. Now it goes by anti-cheat, and gets triggered after several higher ups review data. It went from a perma ban to a non-perma ban if you appeal and have a shorter history.

Now the process takes MONTHS. Even though it’s more effective than the old way of doing things. This is a big change from the top down, and doesn’t reflect what some smaller companies would have done.

Cryptic, but don’t want to get banned. Cause unlike botting…you can get banned for what I said.

Regardless of the reasoning people think Blizzard is using by not banning these people quicker, it should not be debated at the impact they have had to the game and the economy.

I get how they don’t want to reveal the process in fear of exploiting the process, but obviously it’s not working. I wouldn’t mind doing a CAPCHA at login at this point and I hate them.

They aren’t banning faster because in their quest to be more efficient, they’ve lost efficiency.

I truly don’t believe they have anywhere near the impact as solo dungeon farming by regular players.

Eh - you aren’t gettting herbs/black lotus in the dungeons.

Boycott flasking until NPCs sell them for 5g

I don’t think anyone really flasks - just some top guilds. Regular people aren’t flasking. Maybe some rankers as well.

200g a lotus is still enticing. Even if you sell 1-3 a week that’s a ton. But by no means does it mean lots are flasking.

Plenty of herbs in dungeons. If you want Black Lotus you need grit and good old American know how.

There are other systems in place for that though. You can only run so many, so often.

Any loot picked up from dungeons would require it to be BOE, and/or use professions.

Whereas a bot can farm all day and night, essentially depriving the market of other sellers.

None of that refutes my belief.

What is your belief based on then?

The fact that bots are a tiny minority of players. Like, tiny.

Right…but you need to connect the dots here.

What impact does solo players in dungeons have on the game? I mean…objectively?

Report them. Blizzard tends to ban bots in waves, so it does take a hair of time before they get nailed.
