Classic Bots

I’m leaving that as an exercise for the student.

There is no student. You were the one that said what they believe, it’s on you to demonstrate to others.

It’s sad when people choose names like that and then live up to them spectacularly. Why they allow people to post that don’t actually want to discuss is beyond me.

lol

Report them before you engage in combat with them.

After you’ve reported them, try to get them to aggro onto you and drag them into exhaustion waters or as far away from where they are as you can.

Same bots running still on our server that have been reported months ago and we were doing tickets daily

I made a topic and provided video proof this morning regards to bots.
Topic was locked and unlisted, Blizzards censoring almost all threads regards botters and gold sellers. My guess is because it probably makes them look bad.

Anyways this is the reply I got.

“Forum Moderator Note: We’re closing this down since discussing how to violate the Code of Conduct is not allowed on our forums. Suffice it to say that we are constantly removing bots from the game, but the most prominent botters - the gold sellers - have constant incentives to create new ones.”

Blows my mind that they’re unable to deploy a few hours a week and just log into servers and manually check players or some of the reports that were filed. Wouldn’t shock me if most of these bot accounts were connected to one another server to server in some way.

LOL edited by blizzard. I have a pretty strong guess on what website you where talking about, and its disgusting. Its where the scum of WoW go to sell each other botting and multiboxing programs, and they usually end with someones account getting stolen and hacked fo trying to buy said programs.

Blizzard isn’t going to do anything about bots. bots are just free money every month for them. I remember when classic first launched and I made a orc hunter on whitemane, and then I saw a tauren druid stuck in the middle of the Oasis place where you have to swim and plant seeds.

Whatever program he was using was bugged out and he was just jumping repeatedly on the waters surface. This went on for about 4-5 hours and he never stopped, and everyone in barrens chat was talking about it. Blizzard did nothing, but I guess you could say that they had enough problems with realm overpopulation and que times and didn’t care about some random bot.

The brutal truth is that bots are just another free $15 a month for blizzard, and so are multiboxing scumbags who cant play the game properly and cheese gold farming and professions with 5+ accounts.
In this day of age in our world, money is god and that is that. whoever controls the dollar controls everything else and is living in heaven and had everything they could ever want. Its a sad, but true fact. People will do anything to get another dollar in they’re pocket these days. Its sad that a piece of paper is your judge jury and executioner, and controls everything in your life and is basically your purpose for living. Its brutal and sad world we live in these days.

ROFL if they were constantly removing bots from the game, I wouldn’t see bots leveling from 1 - 40. What a crock.

In my opinion, MOST bot reports are false. Players report other players any time they suspect botting.

But every gatherer or farmer does things that “seem like” a bot to other players. I have been reported as a bot. I am sure that most gatherers or farmers have been reported by someone.

I’ve stayed in 1 spot for an hour, killing things (and being reported for botting). I’ve followed the same exact route, the 900th or 1700th time I was gathering herbs in that region.

All these false reports eat up a lot of GM time. That is part of the reason that tickets take so long. So “report everything and anything” makes things worse.

I’ve grouped with several players who didn’t speak English. Some were French. Some were Chinese. Players like that often solo (gather). I’ve grouped with many more players who MAYBE didn’t speak English. You do an entire dungeon run and 2 out of 5 never say anything? Are they just shy? Or are they Scandinavian?

Right click and report for cheating.

there are usual signs that someone is a bot and not a player. having a chest spawn right next to someone that is running a mob killing program and they not make any move to loot it. or make no effort to stop killing targets when you get the first tag on them and then let them kill for you. had fun with a bot while working on my ranged weapons the other day. i got the tag on the mob and just stayed back working on my ranged weapon skill while the botting mage stayed in melee range killing them, for an hour…

if you play on a PvP server, then call out the bots faction and location in your server forums. No names, just location and faction.

You just described me farming.

And i NEVER loot chests.
Dont want alterac swiss, apples, and cloth

i always check chests…never know when you might find a BoE epic or profession pattern worth gold…

Some people are probably over zealous in reporting “bots”, but seeing real bots at work…
You might run the same route over and over, but I promise there is some variation in what you do. You don’t stop at the exact same points every time. You don’t turn the exact same number of degrees each time. And there certainly aren’t 5-10 other toons, each about 10 seconds behind another in the loop, running, stopping, and turning all exactly the same as you.

I can assure you from many hundreds of hours herbing in Felwood that Blizzard does not care, or does not use the report > cheating function in the game.

We have several players that my server, Kirtonos, have reported for months, I’m going to guess like 4 or 5 months at this point and they are still there, alive and well, botting away.

It’s very frustrating but it’s like screaming into the wind. They don’t care.

I farm the buff mats in blasted lands two alliance mages were there recently clearly bots. Here is how I could tell.

  1. I would snipe a mob they would continue to attack it.

  2. They would drink after they killed a mob.

  3. No aoe farming of the mobs.

  4. When there was no mobs they would run back and forth from the road to where mobs would spawn.

  5. Upon reaching lvl 56 the bot program ended and the mage stopped in the middle of the mob area where it died over and over to Teremus and the pathing lost seeker.

Just quit. Blizzard doesn’t ban bots
