I get whiplash from all the changes. Especially when you factor in PvP… It’s impossible to keep track of which abilities have been nerfed or buffed and leaves me disoriented
So, are the remaining forms of uncapped AoE going to be removed as well across all classes and specs, or are yall going to keep cherry picking and messing up balance in high keys?
Fun fact: This exists in the game files. It’s fully animated and works perfectly. It’s even on live. But it’s hidden for zero reason. (Other than devs despise fun and flavor more than anything else in the universe)
afflock won’t be as good once they lose the one thing doing there dmg that they won’t have for DF, just prepatch nonsense
I understand why the cap exists, but also think capping it at 5 is WAY too low. 8 or 10 would be better.
Part of my thinks it’s due to also due to not wanting to balance AoE abilities beyond 5 targets…which while understandable, makes me wonder why there’s so much damn trash in these dungeons in the first place.
Like you said, many people like M+ due to all the AoE damage numbers, and that gives trash a purpose: see how fast you can delete all the garbage.
Capping AoE so low goes against dungeon design from my perspective. Stopping people from pulling half the dungeon is logical, but it’s also the kind of control-freak nature that makes me quit an expansion.
you are clueless if you’re posting as a warlock and don’t know why affliction is doing big dmg in prepatch thinking it will be the same in DF
Boooooo! DF pre-patch uncapped AOE is the most fun I’ve had in WoW in the whole of SL, and BFA. It’s an element that adds so much fun, makes the player feel powerful, and able to chat and have fun with it knowing that they’ll output the damage needed to down the trash. The thought process about knowing which mobs to group, and how much your group can handle is fun. Also makes me keen for the encounters that actually matter (bosses, sub bosses, ones with unique mechanics) and not just a sludgy slog 100% of the instance.
Par for the course. I hate that I was naive enough to believe they wouldn’t sabotage the game before release. This is just the beginning most likely.
I haven’t given up yet, but if this is another SL launch where my excitement turns to revilement…I’m not even going to ‘check out’ the next expansion. Drawing us in with hype, doing well with design, and then…2 weeks before launch when they have our pre-orders, they revert.
I wasn’t planning to pre-order until the day before, but trying preservation evoker got me.
So next time I’m not even going to check out the hype if they’re going to keep doing this.
Anyways, leaving the forums before I rant myself to death.
Awesome changes as always! Keep up the good work, Blizzard
This is a bad change AoE caps are not fun no one liked in SL no one will like them now Just stop… Get some help
Are you kidding? lol
And how do you beat the timer?? Mass-AoE. cmon…
Any chance of looking at contradictory talents and pathing in the BM tree?
Specifically…
-
Animal Companion requires Aspect of the Beast. AotB boosts pet ability damage. AC reduces pet damage and blocks one pet from using pet abilities. The talent’s power is literally reduced by 35% by choosing the next talent in the path.
-
Aspect of the Wild coming after War Orders. War Orders all but removes Cobra Shot from the rotation, then Aspect of the Wild prioritizes Cobra Shot. This isn’t granting any benefit, because you have to give up DPS to get DPS and is essentially a DPS loss. Why isn’t it linked to Cobra Senses instead?
-
Master Handler is on the oppostie side of the tree from the Dire Beast talents it’s intended to synergize, and it’s below the 20 point threshold. This make it very difficult to get them together without giving up necessary talents above it. The end result is an entire build philosophy that doesn’t work.
-
Finally, why are there so many 2 and 3 point talents in the BM tree? The spec has 28 points worth of 2 and 3 point talents, which is the highest among all the specs. It also has one of the fewest number of talent choices in the game. If you ran out of ideas, I’m sure the Hunter community can offer plenty.
-
Bonus complaint: Kindred Spirits is literally a useless talent. It has zero impact on any build. Nothing in the game grants any benefit from having more Focus. It doesn’t improve Focus regen, so it’s literally pointless. It’s easy to skip, so it’s not that big of a deal, but it’s still wasting space in an already limited field.
I don’t see anything about being able to get Dragon-Tempered Blades.
There are not enough talents to acquire this ability. Please fix.
Why does it just say “sometimes” in the talent, and the value is not listed?
Why not 8 targets so it works better with the amount of targets that Shadow Crash applies VT to?
This.
There needs to be some cap or eventually it devolves to god mode and you’re pulling half the dungeon. And if there are specs that are uncapped, poof, you just created an m+ META.
Dont worry they will come out with the most outrageous nerf/buffs right at release so people will already have their subscriptions, money, and time invested into the game and will just play it for that reason.
Yup SL S1 is all about fore mage and moonkin updated AoE. Look how that went literally every group ones one the I SL S4 is all about SV hunter.
Class then have a cap like fury warrior , ret pally never stood a chance
Blizzard re-implementing something they already removed because everyone hates it so they can look good when they remove it in 10.1 because everyone hates it. Classic Blizzard.
Let the bait and switch begin. Not too late to refund that prepurchase.
No need to buy the expac if I’m not getting invited to the big round-up.
