Nah its just actively weeding out the bad tanks. I dont mind this nerf at all, with scaling most tanks wouldn’t need healers outside of high end raids and M+
The amount of overreactions to this is seriously hilarious. If you ain’t tanking because of a 10% increase to damage taken, then you probably weren’t going to stick with it anyway, especially when keys get introduced. Quit acting like you actually liked it versus playing the flavor of the month.
The last slaughterhouse bullet is too much and will completely remove fury from competitive play. Arms is questionably viable so you’ve basically removed warriors from pvp as an entire class.
Undo the last bullet. Revert slaughterhouse to 6 second duration. It’s a fair nerf if it takes longer to build a weaker MS effect that can fall off if you can cc the warrior off the kill target. But the lack of refresh makes slaughterhouse absolutely useless.
I think most warriors agree that the lack of duration refresh goes beyond bringing them in line. It makes slaughterhouse useless and the sustain damage + healing reduction was what made fury meaningful. Yes slaughterhouse needed some changes but this has quite possibly killed Fury and flies in the face of Blizz’s claims to focus on smaller more frequent tuning. They should have made all the other changes first and if fury was still over performing THEN add the lack of duration refresh.
I dont mind the nerfs to tanks tbh (as a tank) but you need to give healers some love. You arent helping them, or making more want to play them. Here are some things I take from this:
- Blizzard wants to slow down clear times of their shorter dungeons by making pulls more difficult on healers mana pools and tanks inc. damage.
- They wont tune down unavoidable group/raid damage to compensate for tank survive nerfs.
- Claim its unfun for healers to do DPS when they should focus on healing. By that logic, why were/are glimmer pal, fistweavers, and disc priests a thing and a favorite for many? Once again doing the “you think you want it, but you don’t” argument.

Cool, let’s nerf tanks for being too good in trivial content right before the release of actual challenging stuff. What a great plan. I don’t see any way this can possibly backfire.
Tanking is only fun when the role does meaningful damage when played correctly, and has meaningful control over their survival. The tank changes are a big L.
I literally would never play a healer that isn’t on this list.
I would agree that blood dk, vengeance dh, and prot warrior felt a bit strong defense wise, but warrior needs a bit more of a nerf imo. I’ve seen them tanking in battle stance just fine which is a problem.
What does need a bit of a buff is tank and healer damage. Tanks are more fun when you can balance damage and self sustain and do well at both. Same with healers.
Tanks finally felt good in PVP. For once Prot Pally felt it would be a contender for Rated BG’s. After spending a whole expac for every single RBG group wanting a guardian druid. Then what does Bliz do? They Nerf us into the ground right before the season opens. It looks like it’s time to quit Protection Pally after rocking it since Legion. I was fine with Bop/Spell warding on the same CD and 5min CD. I was fine with avenger shield no longer generating holy power. All because of the WOG buff with Light of Titan. But now on top of those nerfs, we have queens on a 5min CD. If you compare a Shadowlands prot pally to Dragon Flight we now are WORSE. NERF AFTER NERF. You have almost doubled our immune and now gutted our healing.
At least make queens non CC’able if you’re going to make it a 5min CD. It’s practically useless now.
Time to re-roll.
increasing the damage tanks take by 10%. for tanks are you mad a balanced gameplay experience for all players. not if we are all dead. if tank dies we all die thats not fun bad move blizz

Considering how much more non tank group wide damage is going on in new dungeons, healers are going to be very busy keeping yourself and DPS alive. It’s already very noticeable even in M0 if tank pulls a lot, healers have a very hard time to keep group alive. Anything harder than m0 going to be brutal for healers even without this 10% tank nerf.
Tanks doesn’t need to take more damage to keep healers busy. Tanks should be tanky and self sustain.

That doesn’t make any sense. M+ dungeons haven’t come out yet. Raids haven’t come out yet. While tanks may seem overwhelmingly…tanky at this point and time, all it means is that the content isn’t challenging…yet.
If the problem is PVP, then fix things PVP side without messing with the PVE.
Even when one considers the scaling of gear, it would seem that the more sensible thing to do would be to wait for the first week of M+ or raiding to come out before making any changes. As it stands now with these nerfs, it’s highly likely that there’ll be buffs for tanks once the first week of actually challenging endgame content comes out.
Honestly, if they wanted to make the game more fun, maybe they could do something about the lag in The Azure Span.
