Hunter nerf revert post waiting room… :copium:
What “data and feedback” made you do this to BM??
Survival is great at keys and just got better.
Throw glaive demon hunter is the lamest idea they’ve ever had. People want to press eye beam and blade dance.
Its called favoring the class some people play (twitch, streamers) and pushing everyone else aside to make room for more advertiser income via streamers.
The fact that BM went live this expansion with the Basilisk Collar issue got me thinking. How does something this poorly designed pass any sort of QC?
There are a couple of things I think that person misunderstood.
- They didn’t realize how many dots BM has. 5/10% per dot is something you do when you think a spec has 1-3 dots, not 6-8.
- I don’t think they realized most damage bonus effects don’t translate through Beast/Kill Cleave. They likely thought we would use Basilisk Collar to increase damage to one target and spread that damage with cleave.
As for their “data and feedback”, I think they made these changes based on arbitrary feedback and not actual data. If they do use data, I don’t think their data model is programmed to realize how many dots BM has access to, because they’re compensating as if BM only has access to 2-3 dots, not 5+.
okay blizzard, i get it, i leveled my prot warrior and resto shaman over the weekend. i won’t try to play other specs! i won’t be bad!
The holy paladin changes here just solidify that whatever team is in charge of healer balance rarely takes actual playstyle into account when making changes, and only focus on raw output in raids. Hpal has been middle of the road in dungeons so far, and currently we are doing well in raid due to Herald (specifically Sun’s Avatar) scaling really well in 20-30 man groups. Our actual spells are doing comparatively much less, and it’s disheartening to see a return to the philosophy of making the base kit so weak to account for passive interactions. Aura nerfs without any nuance discredit the hard work of the devs who designed the current Hpal setup, and pigeonhole the playerbase into playing flavour of the month in order to get into pug groups or do high end content. Huge L from the dev team.
Holy Paladin isn’t even great in raids, they’re 2nd on one boss and lower than that on everything else.
Hello everyone.
We appreciate your discussions on the class tuning changes. We’ve made the following changes to Beast Mastery Hunter and Holy Paladin based on your feedback. The original post has been updated to reflect these changes.
- Hunter
- Beast Mastery
- All damage dealt by you and your pet’s abilities increased by 8%.
- Developer’s note: We’ve corrected an issue with the Beast Mastery changes which previously excluded the baseline aura buff for both the Hunter and their pets. We’ve also adjusted the values for the baseline buff up, to better reach our target goals. Our intended tuning change for Beast Mastery is intended to be relatively neutral for single target, while increasing AoE performance, which was behind where it should be.
- All damage dealt by you and your pet’s abilities increased by 8%.
- Beast Mastery
- Monk
- Mistweaver
- Mastery of Harmony: Fixed an issue that caused Coalescence to not increase the healing taken during Aspect of Harmony.
- Master of Harmony: Coalescence now causes Aspect of Harmony to increase damage and healing taken by 20% (was 30%).
- Developer’s note: After fixing a bug that prevented Coalescence healing taken effect from functioning, we found that we needed to reduce its effectiveness a bit.
- Mistweaver
- Paladin
- Holy
All healing reduced by 5%. Does not affect PvP combat.- Fixed a bug causing Dawnlight to not have its healing reduced beyond 5 targets.
- Dawnlight healing increased by 30%.
- Developer’s note: After continued feedback and further review on performance, we’ve decided to revert the planned Holy Paladin nerf for October 8 weekly reset. Additionally, we’re correcting the bug with Dawnlight and compensating with a buff to its healing to keep its value in raid close to its current performance, while giving it increased performance in 5 party group content.
- Holy
Sounds very similar to what they did to feral between season one and season two last expansion.
Mid tier spec that was only mid tier because they had some good uncapped AoE. But really bad at single target. So they added a little single target and destroyed the AoE, and…
After main’ing feral since vanilla I no longer main feral.
And I kind of suspect they think that’s good. Some sort of “we need to make sure they experience everything” or other Helicopter Dev’ing mentality.
Kind saw that with all the season 4 tier sets that forced you into a under used capstone talent.
Helicopter Dev’ing I’m telling you.
So where are the crest tuning changes? No reason to run m+ at this time otherwise?
Thank you.
Huge! Thank you!
More like why are they making BM a spec revolving around dots and yes basilisk collar shouldn’t never went live
Where are the additional PvP changes? You said you tuned based on feedback. Who in gods name is giving you this feedback? How are feral druids and hunters not getting tuned? Did you guys even watch AWC? What about the current mmr issues in shuffle and 3s? Arena is an absolute joke at this moment and people are quitting 1 month into the season. FIX YOUR GAME AND STOP MAKING UNINFORMED CHANGES WHILE REFUSING TO FIX THE ACTUAL PROBLEMS.
I am very glad that these changes were made to hunter/pally in response to feedback. I also really hope that all of the disappointment from havoc players that aldrachi reaver was buffed was noted. The tree needs a total rework, not damage buffs.
THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Blizzard gets the win today! Can’t wait to try out the BM changes tomorrow
So Fury warriors just get to be a useless spec that still offers the least to groups of any spec in the game?
I can appreciate the changes here balancing the choices within the spec, but the spec needs to do more damage no matter what choices you make.
There is more to the damn game than this stupid raid that has adds that flop over and align near perfectly with fury cooldowns.
