Class Tuning Incoming – October 29

I will say that I feel like Ret hits huge numbers super early and then don’t gain numbers as dramatically as some other specs as they get gear.

Still a super strong spec, just saying I think their baseline for damage is very high so it gives them the impression of being more OP than they are.

Hpally has quite a bit of %dmg reduction they give to others. Prevent dmg > healing dmg later. I’m just happy that for the first time in ages the healer meta is no longer resto druid / hpally or bust, we have many healer classes in the game, they should be allowed to shine for a bit too XD

The fact ret does so much dmg, yet as a DPS has a healer external, solid off healing, access to devo aura, tons of cc/stops, and God tier defensives, is bonkers. The only downside to ret I can find is the fact they are melee, but even then, their range is pretty big.

Dear hunter Devs… Please help me make sense, why are you nerfing dark rangers single target dps based off a bug that you already fixed…while DR is not even doing better than other specs… What is wrong with you and why do you hate us…

oh for sure. outlaw is in the same boat, and has been nerfed early in expansions twice in a row now as a result. we start strong but since we scale mostly with vers, everyone else pulls ahead as they gear up.

Can you actually come back and comment on all the concerns here? It’s so irresponsible of Devs to throw out these patch notes and not respond to any of the concerns listed here…
My main concern is with MM hunter’s DR nerf but buffing Sentinel when DR is UNDERperforming after bug fix when compared to Sentinel…yet the stronger hero talent (Sentinel) got buffed and the underperforming one (dark ranger) is getting a nerf. Please help me make sense of this stupidity

They won’t reply, nor will they even acknowledge the fact that dark ranger was only overperforming for Marksmanship hunter BECAUSE of a bug

In my opinion after the Mastery bug being fixed Black arrow needs a BUFF not a nerf.

it’s terrible class design and takes minimal skills to be played in arena and no one likes to play against it?

i understand 1 + 1 = 2 is difficult to comprehend for some people so no worries man it’s all good

why are you trying to debate the balancing fistweaver when you have never stepped foot in pvp before? stick to doing m+ and killing npc pixels this doesn’t concern you lmfao

I’m def over exaggerating my old friend → Guardians of Cenarius might be a big fix for us by next week, but I still think there’s an illusion of choice in our tree and really - I think they’ve gone backwards on their philosophy with these new trees. Even the hero talents are boring, safe and way too passive for us…i doubt they even had fun designing these hero talents tbh, because they had to play it so safe as far as numbers go.

One of the problems resto druids have been complaining about is that we were gutted pretty bad, and I’m just a regrowth bot now. If i wanted to spam one button, I’ll play on my HC druid…

Flourish, Moonkin Form, Adaptive Swarm were all really good talents that gave you a lot of flavor to choose from, and expanded your playstyle options as a druid…but they trimmed our most “fun” buttons, and now I have to follow a very specific build to play the game optimally.

I don’t think Resto druid had any issues with HPS or utility this xpac, but they kept slapping on these +3% healing bandaid buffs from beta to live, despite being told that we have a spec that feels way too slow and passive. I used to look forward to patch notes, but we’ll often get a game breaking change with 0 dev notes to support it.

I also think we have some really bad abilities, that should have been buffed via hero talents (like tranquility for example)…but nah, let’s just add some random swiftmend buffs like it’s going to change my build from spamming regrowth all the time?

tl;dr, why even have useless talent nodes in the first place?

don’t be mad at me, i still love rdruid, but blizz can do WAY better than this…they had it right from like Cata - BfA so idk what the issue is over there.

we already lost Rapid Fire and Aimed buffs. its Direct nerf to MM. especially st burst.

they tied mm’s damage to Dark arrow+Deathblow. and after bug fix (nerf) they are nerfing another %10.

MM lost a lot of damage with core spells. need buffs of course.

WW as well, I’m not too worried though, I still top charts. But, it would be nice to be in the conversation, maybe see a little love.

I wonder where those changes will put Blood DKs at, especially San’layn.

Alas, number tuning won’t really fix how unimpressive the hero talent choice feels to play with.

Please reconsider elemental nerfs in single target or give compensation ST buffs …

Good evening, Krazed here. A usual High/top BM in the North american Region/World Ladder of the M+ world. I would like to bring some things to light as far as the Dark ranger spec goes. the big problems are as follows:

1: Dark Ranger spec has a tremendous bug that WILL NOT allow me to “auto shot” and stating “Spell not Learned” right out of spell book. According to my testing, “Bleak Arrows” is infact bugging the “auto shot” spell itself to actually be used at all a current workaround I found is to press any other ability engaging in a combat scenario and my auto shot is in another way “freed-up” for the CURRENT in-combat pull as it will reset completely back to “spell not learned” when i am dropped from combat. This is an issue as I use auto shot to “fish” a barbed proc when we’re going into another quick pack and i have no barbed shots available thus currently having to blow an uncleaved kill command to start auto shooting again.

  1. BLACK ARROW… has a range issue that i think could be absolutely corrected with a “Target is/not in COMBAT check?” if a pack is completely dotted up and i black arrow again into the pack again it to refresh, it seems to do an auto check to see if a dot is up on current target/surrounding targets? IF DOTS TICKING → will bounce to nearby surrounding trash NOT IN COMBAT and or whip around 90 degree angles and hit things WAAAY out of range and aggroing more things not in the original pull/pack thus bricking keys completely"

  2. Dark Ranger is being Nerfed Tuesday?? strange as we still lack in overall damage to almost everything. to be more straightforward is does 100% still need base line damage of basically everything to go up to play in high M+ keys as im still a good portion away from basically everything at the end of keys Rogues,Dk,Mages,Shamans,warriors etc etc.

But mostly even before tuning please look into 1/2 above ^ these are a real issue to even consider playing BM right now. Thank you in advance

Hello Tassili here, A usual high/top MM hunter in raiding. I would like to bring attention to some of the bugs affecting Dark Ranger as a MM hunter.

Razor-fragments is not a rolling periodic (this is the biggest one of all, due to you firing off so many black arrows your constantly overwriting strong razor-fragment dots)

During withering fire only some of the Black arrows benefit from Razor-fragments (currently only the main arrow will benefit and 1 2ndry, or both 2ndary and not the primary)

Dark hounds do not proc consistently for Marksman (in sims this has about 5% of your overall damage, currently on live its less than 1%)

Ebon bowstring Resets cause the first arrow fired to consume the razor-fragment buff without providing the damage. it does however provide the dot. but its inconsistent (if you start with razor-fragment BA an that one procs ebon then the first BA will consume both buffs and leave the reset with nothing)

Withering fire Main arrow is unable to proc crows (this might be intentional, but crows is extremely weak somewhere like 1.5% of your total damage)

I would suggest fixing these bugs, and seeing were dark ranger lands. before you do any type of tuning. I do believe the hero talent is fairly strong, if said bugs are taken care of.

Are they getting CoD devs to adjust WoW? These changes make zero sense.

The hunter and shaman stuff is mind blowing…wow! Those changes scream they have no understanding of not only the specs, but no understanding of what is currently going on in the game. How can you even balance something with so many unfixed bugs with so many specs, and in general, aspects of the game?

TWW had so much promise, but alarming levels of incompetence within the ranks of Blizzard is fundamentally and systemically deteriorating all the positivity that started with TWW.

11.0.5 must be one of the worst patches I’ve seen in all my time in WoW. The goals seemed great, but the execution and quality has been horrid.

What’s going on Blizzard?
