He does get enraged whiel striking. That is part of the whole gamma thing of this lore. Hitting and getting hit increases his blootthirst. That is why it is dangerous to get him going in the first place. The more he goes, the stronger he gets. He doesn’t have a cieling cap, he just keeps going and going.
Yeah, and if the enemy is god like, he will keep increasing in power with each hit taken or each hit even.
Not for the Hulk. That is why they need ways to shut him down, because he does loose control.
But now we are way off topic and talking about the hulk in a paladin thread, so I am going to stop.
Way off topic.
All in all, you view leeching strikes as some vampiric thing, you can RP that if you wish. I don’t see it as that. Leeching attacks are in a lot of games with normal humans as well, Ghost of Tsuhima is another that does this. Health on kills, health on hits, healing out of combat.
It’s just a game mechanic just to keep you in combat.
Again, just a game mechanic. Leech literally just means to take away from someone else. But I guess you are right, warriors are vampires. It’s not just a game mechanic. They are vampires.
Players vibe with paladin thematically, always, its popularity exists regardless of favorable tuning or design. When it becomes strong, players that would main it, but instead had it as an alt, go back to maining it. We saw that and more in 10.0.7.
As mentioned by others, 11.5 does bring improvements, some of them are considerable improvements. Whether the design and tuning will have Ret be great or poor for pvp in 11.5 is anyones guess.
From experience I would predict, while evaluating 11.5s changes, most of the current flaws affecting pvp are not addressed in the 11.5 changes. Low ST damage, no MS, no instant mobility, and dispelled DoTs and Defensives will keep Ret a bit below average and quite inadequate compared to better tuned and designed specs.
If you crush M+ or fair well enough in Raid as Ret, I am happy for you. Those other game modes are not the same math Ret suffers from with pvp specific nerfs, and doesnt offer the same challenges of facing specs with a better pvp tool kit.
His claim that it is a dead spec is false though, as demonstrated by the huge amount of people that played it in DF and the fact that it’s popularity remained stable throughout BFA and SL.
He never specified he was talking solely about PVP, his comments seemed to be addressed at the game in general.
So they can re apply it in their next autoattack. You can also cleanse them manually…
See, its utility designed for someone who either doesnt play or know the spec. Or just some m+ boss
Wound poison stacks. If it’s getting constantly cleansed it can never reach it’s full healing reduction. A single stack of wound poison is 8% if I recall. It stacks 3 times. I think.
My comment applied mostly to pvp, and need not be thought of as a reply to any person or other topic.
Its not a dead spec, it is an easily countered and killed spec. People do log onto their paladins and perfom pvp. It is also the top kill target as people dont like to see its utility used, but its utility cant protect itself. Having a spec have many people playing it doesnt mean it gets to live in pvp combat. With most paladin defensives dispellable or inadequate, those defensives are not the get off me button others pretend they are. You remove the dispellable defensive right away, or just kill the paladin who has Forbearance as soon as the defensive ends 8 seconds later.
Latest notes say we got a 10% armor buff in general + more armor from SoTR so it evens out at 4% haste loss. Which isn’t ideal, didn’t even need the nerf, but it’s alright.
