bringing some context i am a mythci raider and mythic+ enjoyer and also a break the meta #1 from my server and 4rth on americas that being said when i played cata it was my frist expantion during the last weeks of firelands and dragonsoul some people say its bad some people say it was hard, i honestly want to play it from the start at 60 fps this time and during my precius cata times all i did was hang out with friends on dungeon finder and LFR which for me was the greatest experience ever to let new players see the final cutscene.
which class do you think has the most potential to get into groups for raiding 10 man between rogue (playing combat and assasination depending on encounter) paladin (playing ret-holy for raids and prot for dungeons) or warlock (demonology-Affliction)?

i honestly dont know if buff stacking its a thing from the past or not i did some research and alot of world first were done with class stacking and wierd shenanigans like summoning people middle of the encounter; in Retail a good staple for raiding its Mage, lock and dh, is there such thing as staples in 10 man?
sorry for the wall of text as leveling takes awhile i want to only level what would not be a meme class even if its not the strongest i dont have a problem, my problem would be if the class its literally dogwater like ret paladins on classic wow.

Of your three options the one I cna rule out for you right off the bat is pally. The two biggest servers right now are Faerilina and Mankrik. The highest pop alliance server is no longer Benediction it’s Pagle. But you see the same trend on all three servers. Paladins are nearly 1/5 of the total game population (normal would be 1/10th) and hunters, rogues and warlocks are very unpopular. That is, there’s less of those three than pallies.
The thing about rogues is they will be very unpopular early on. And then once Firelands is about half done you’ll start seeing your raid getting spammed with them. It’s a class that’s great to get in on early while they suck because you’ll be in line to get lego daggers. But the lego daggers are sort of a post-progression reward… so you kinda have to go through the entire expansion being mid-grade first.
Demo locks (and later affliction) are basically, always good. They’re not, the best. But they’ll be in the top ten for every single fight. But a couple of things. The first is, it’s a lot more work than say… a mage. Arcane mage will beat demo lock with just 3 buttons. Fire mage will beat demo lock with just four. Demo locks have a silly number of buttons. The basic rotation is six spells, then there’s curse of elements every five minutes, demon form with immolation aura every 3 minutes (minus immolate procs), soulfire as a filler change at 25% or lower, pet swapping mid fight on some conditions, a mini-power infusion for yourself every 3 minutes, and then either a single target or AOE guardian spell every 10 minutes. And you really have to do all of that perfectly to compete. for the coveted top three DPS. There is a chance for you to get the legendary staff in Phase 3 (Firelands patch) but… any reasonable guild will feed it to their mages. But loyalty also counts for something.
I think either rogue or warlock would be good. I think warlock pulls a lil ahead because it’s one of the two specs in the game that gives the 10% spellpower buff. But really ,play the first ten levels or so and see if you personally lean one way or the other.
There are no gammas or mythic+ in Cata Classic. Gamma was a bit of a failure in Wrath. They made the three ICC dungeons into default gammas… so people just preferentially did them because they were easier. And that’s not good if you made content intending people to play it. They have been playing around with heroic difficulty. On original Cata launch the heroics were about a mythic difficulty. They had some really hard heroics and then steadily nerfed them down. It’s possible the Mythc+ difficulty might be the pre-nerf dungeons.
i appreciate your honesty friend and all the cool tips i have been leveling a rogue as combat for dungeons and also assasin for dungeons to get used to both, it pretty smooth to play and its quite sturdy (evasion and recuperate are dope)
i do have archieves look at my Character Liffuvir-stormrage i never killed nzoth but we reached a respectful 11/12 before on the voting (for 1 vote) we called it, after that i tried Sire, but conduit energy was too much for me (during bfa i managed to get challenger never gladiator but im a pvp enjoyer!, so need to have special "schedules to pvp. m+ and raid because i have to change conduit energy talents because they regenerate was very taxing and the best “solution” was "oh just create another of the same class and use it to pvp Easy! dont forget to thorgast and do all the chores on 2x characters!)
that being said i stoped playing for shadowlands after season 1 and came back in DF i skipped mythic season 1 and went mythic Season 2, then i remembered what is like to hit a wall (we killed rashok after 300 pulls with more problems on the “roster boss”)
on season 3 i skipped raid only aotc but went big on keys and managed to be the #1 BREAK THE META paladin on stormrage server and 4# on the AMERICAS SERVER holy paladin;
