Class rankings in pvp right now

Only time I ever played Combat Rogue in Classic PVP, was AR/Prep/Mace Arena builds.

How did they not put in a mass dispel or shattering throw rune yet?

they do about 1/3rd the dps in pvp as hybrids

SW:D will triple mortal strike’s dmg

stafire will more than 5x it with a 1.0 cast time

what are you smoking

1.5sec cast with a bit of set up.

wrong, zg gear allows for 1.0 second

Poor mages lol

Everyone seems to agree that mage PvP is dog poop but devs don’t seem to care. Is this a sign that SoD is coming to an end? Or the incompetence of them? Maybe both.

Fair enough, if the stars align.

The fact you have hunter as 1 you lose credibility lol

The only really broken class in PvP right now are Boomkins.

Those 5 man Boomie groups using FAPs in Blood Moon are gonna be ridiculous. If you thought those 5 man Mage groups were cheese Phase 2 and 3, just you wait.

I finally finished my boomie, that is exactly my plan haha

I would swap hunter and druid around, but other than that spot on.

warrior is not bad. are you guys kidding me?

  1. Druid
  2. Hunter
  3. Paladin
  4. Shaman
  5. Rogue
  6. Warrior
  7. Priest
  8. Warlock
  9. Mage

Clothies are an absolute joke of a class in SOD PVP. There is no limit on the amount of cast push-back from spells in classic, but SOD introduced a million abilities that can be used between auto attacks as well as tons of instant cast spells. Unless you’re a boomkin with runes that prevent spell cast pushback or have a priest shield. Good luck. Oh yea and kiting a warrior or rogue is not even a thing anymore with all the mobility.

Vanilla was a good flavor. SOD added wayyyyy too many toppings

Mages and Warlocks need a lot of love. If you are still complaining about a drain life that does 100 damage, can be dispelled and can be outranged you’re fried.

Priests and locks do just fine lmao.

Right now the big 5 are Boomkins, Paladins, Shamans, Rogues, and Hunters with Boomkins clearly at the top. Though in 1v1 I think its a good Rogue.

Mid tier are Priests, Warlocks, and Warriors

Mages are clearly at the bottom.

Idk IF you have rank 13 gear, mage feels good IF you play to your strengths and understand the niche roll that no other class can, maybe resto shamans have a slight overlap here

Mage is not an S tier class. It will not pump damage or heals. It excels with its CC and strong cooldowns. Mages optimal purpose is to throw out offheals and peel for your heavy hitters and healers. Giving your allys breathing room from rogues and warriors is invaluable and their 9 second silence will swing fights if you land them on healers.

1-2 mages in WSG is BiS. No other class can touch mages ability to facilitate a flag run, no other class can peel as hard. Hunters come close and are also necessary on defense. 1-2 mages are also BiS in AB. They are super strong in the initial BS fight with double ice block and excel in small skirmishes to take bases thanks to sheep. Theyre also BiS for stalling a cap with ice block, giving your rezzers enough time to reinforce and likewise can stall enemy rezzers while ur team flips the flag.

Mage isnt a straight forward class to play, but if you have enough HPnto survive getting 1 tapped by rogues and hunters, you can excel with your unmatched support capabilities. Also mind quickening gem is OP

atm ret pala is beyond broken op

Then hunter/shaman/rogue/ druid

Paladin answer is simply to remove Bubble in BGs. No bubble in BGs, especially the capture the base version (AB) would balance Ret Paladins. Literally the only ability in the game that is not balanced and we know this, because in future expansions they removed Paladins ability to deal damage when they were in the bubble and could only heal.

Stop acting like Rets running around Seal Twisting is a good thing with a 12 second immunity to all.

you are right. Sounds like a good class in PvP

Mage PvP in general is bottom tier. Your rank arguement is “you have to play an offhealer and in some situations like peeling the fc in wsg and if you have a 10 min CD ready you are capable”.

You just admitted how bad Mage is in that statement. Mage has to be healing to serve some purpose, and you have to be close to other dps and healers? that is your definition of “Mage is good in PvP?” damn

Im glad you are enjoying Mage, Sir. But just because you enjoy offhealing does not make Mage good in PvP

Give shamans a -20% damage done while SRd. Think thats a good start in balancing

yes, lets balance everyone on their defensive cooldown.

shaman get a -20% with sr up.

rogues get a -80% (whatever evasion % is) when evasion is up.

pallies get -100% with bubble up (hey its fair right?)

or they could do a -50% on damage done while bubbled like alot of people are asking for and not go the route of -100% .

or you know you could stick to your guns on nerfing everyone by their dr % or effective %.

either way pallies need a fat nerf to damage while COMPLETELY IMMUNE TO ALL CC/PURGES/DAMAGE (other than balefire bolt).
