So im looking to lvl another class that is great at 1v1 and I know the game is not build around 1v1 but that’s my focus. the classes im looking at are
Ret
Unholy DK
Rogue
I have all those at 110 and mained 2 or the 3 for a few years but dumped them in WoD.
any advice would be great and thanks ahead of time.

I personally enjoy Retribution over UH and Rogue because it feels smoother and has better protection.
Admittedly, I’m biased because I’ve mained as a Ret Paladin since Vanilla, but I very much enjoy it as it can match most specs 1v1 if you play right and has a lot of utility that gives it a very flexible playstyle.
Ultimately though, it boils down to what feels best to you and suits your particular playstyle. I recommend Retribution, entirely up to you if you want to play around with it:)

So the absolute best nontank/nonhealer 1v1 specs at this time are Ret, WW, Arcane/Fire, Outlaw, and Havoc (Demonic Appetite 100% essential).
Unholy DKs, Destro Warlocks, and Shadow Priest are also pretty good, but not top tier.

Rogue, it’s the only guaranteed never to lose 1v1 class. Insane reset mechanic, escapes, utility, and damage. If you lose 1v1 as a rogue you tried fighting clean or you AFKd

There isn’t much better than what was mentioned, though YMMV, as you will still lose 1v1s if you suck at the class.
Hands down WW. Not because they do more burst then ret or rogue, but because they can waste their opponents cds fairly easily, while being extremely difficult to get away from. Defensively yeah they can be weaker then say a ret if they tried to go burst va burst, but if that’s what you are trying to do as a WW you’re doing it wrong.

Ret is an amazing choice for 1v1. I can vouch for that, I’m at 13k wins and 3k losses in duels.

I just started as ret, doesn’t seem very good 1v1 if against a rogue if your cds blown he will just keep you stunned for 10-20 seconds ez. Never tops the charts in bgs either, mid pack most of the time. I know “damage dont matter in bg” but some people like to see those numbers.
That could be said for any class
Never lost to a ret as a rogue. Just won’t happen ever. Even with no cds they are so easy to kite and squishy tbh.

Rogues aren’t great at winning 1v1s, we’re just great at not losing them. We have the agency to decide if we want a fight to happen and we can call it a draw at any time if it’s not going our way. But that doesn’t mean we’re favored to win in a lot of match-ups; we’re not.
WW on the other hand is extremely strong in 1v1 and has the added benefit of having insane mobility to chase people down or get away as needed.
Really though, if you want an edge, you’re going to want to branch out beyond the DPS role and take a good look at some of these tanks and healers.

That couldn’t be further from the truth but since you said yourself you just started it makes sense. I’ve been 1st place in bgs ever since I went above ilvl 380. I mean consistently 1st place, sometimes even when we lose.
