Class for learning arena

Hi I’ve been a little worried to ask here because I’m told pvpers are a little bit toxic but that’s okay I’m ready for it :triumph:

A little about me I’m mainly a solo player pver but I want to start doing some PvP I’m looking for opinions on what class to play.

I’m a that gets a little panicky if there’s too many flashy lights on the screen so I need something simple and basic but I still want to kick butt.

Any and all feedback is appreciated

Warrior, paladin, frost mage are all extremely zug. Probably recommend those!!

I am also a fellow anxious pronoun user, so feel free to add me (veralann discord, HyperSonic#1145 bnet). Always looking for more queer players to play w :3

(I had an s at the end of queer and it stopped mw from replying cause of thaf >. > lmfao)

i would disagree. positioning is very important on mage, unless you’ve already played a caster in arena it definitely takes some getting used to. I leveled a mage and without playing a caster previously, got dumpstered for the first week.

Frost is inherently more forgiving than the other specs with its slows, roots, and double block tho. Plus you just orb and go brr (pun intended)

What do you wish to do? Melee or range? Or dps or healer?

Depends on what role you like playing and what you like to do. I would say dev evoker, or fury warrior for easy to to do well with.

dev, fury, bm, DH, seem to be the most easy specs to start pvp with. Arms / ret / frost mage probably 2nd tier

I would suggest Ret Paladin. Pretty good solo queue class for both brackets.

Ret pala for sure, super simple dmg / cc / defense so you can focus more on the flow of the game rather than focusing on min maxing damage or whatever

Play what’s most fun for you. PVP is hard, so you’ll need something that lets you ignore the pain.

I say try out dif classes (its easy to level) and one day you’ll find your main.

Bm hunter hands down and it’s not even close

Casters get punished by interrupts and you have to learn to kite effectively

Melee will get punished in wizard lobbies and its hard to learn good positioning as a melee. You will often overextend and los your healer while you’re still trying to learn

BM hunter has neither of these problems, it is so easy and forgiving and braindead on every level.

I tried Holy Priest for the first time yesterday (they broken) and took me less than 2 hours to get 1.8k. If you wana give healer a shot i’d recommend it. Also insta queues.

Need to W harder.

This is the correct answer. All classes will have specs that are competitively viable, let alone great to learn for beginners long-term. As it’s a video game, the goal should be to have fun and gain a sense of fulfillment out of learning and improving. A natural, healthy variety of classes as opposed to everybody shuffling to the FoTM specs always make matches more enjoyable, and learning opportunities more abundant!

Not with the ammount of mobility melees have in general atm. The positioning part, well meh if you put up markers all you have to do to be in line of your healer.
In this meta if anything melees are way easier to play and are more forgiving.

Fury warrior, Paladin or Evoker! Whatever you choose remember to know where to spend your blood tokens and especially conquest points so you dont brick your character.

Thanks for replies I played my fury warrior because I love my Christmas swords lol! I was wondering what are average ratings? I made it to 2118 in solo shuffles last night I’m just wondering what is a good number I’m also slightly neurodivergent if that matters

Easiest ranged: BM Hunter or Dev Evoker

Easiest melee: Havoc DH or Ret Paladin

Easiest healer: Disc Priest

In that case I recommend unh dk
