So use the equipment then? All you’ll be missing out on is something that doesn’t currently exist.
What if the change was:
Water striders can now choose to be daze immune rather than have the ability to walk on water
It’s literally a net buff to what water striders can do. Pre-8.2: water striders can walk on water. Post 8.2: water striders can walk on water or be immune to daze.
Why lie about something so easy to verify? Not only are you going to get the item mailed to you, it’s going to cost like 5g.
I know you’re just doing the old “go ahead and quit” thing, but understand that some of us see this for what it is- the pointless removal of a mount that tens of thousands of people already have, so the people who don’t have it can feel better about themselves.
If it’s so easy to “just use the equipment” then what difference does it make to you if they leave the Strider alone? Is that going to somehow prevent you from using the new equipment on another mount?
I played from Vanilla to Cata, quit in Cata and didn’t play any of MoP, WoD, and Legion. Quit because they changed something I liked. They suggested they were going to quit themselves. If what amounts to an overall buff to player functionality/utility is what would get them to quit, then they really should quit. I’ve done it, and it costed blizz years worth of subscription fees since I don’t make enough gold to earn playtime that way. I don’t mean it in a bad way at all, they are the ones that brought it up. I’m just encouraging them to do exactly what I did.
We can totally get through Darkshore or Thousands Needles (if haven’t started questing there) on our regular mounts.
The current incarnation of those zones predates the introduction of the water-strider. Did everyone just stand forlornly at the water line and go “oh well, guess my day is done” ?
Darkshore has narrow slivers of waterways in the middle, with many convenient slopes in and out. You touch water there for a second, if at all. Thousand Needles, you can get that boat in, what, the first 3-4 quests?
My goodness, this is hard-core entitlement bubbling forth from some corners. It almost makes me, one who is skeptical of Classic WoW’s viability, actually kinda look forward to it.
And with comments like these, this is why I wish for downvotes to still exist on the forums.
Yes, how shameful it is that you can no longer treat a public forum like a personal blog.
