Interesting video
Might explain some motivations for this perpetual crap by blizzard.
and when I change abilities and then have to pay for WW again?
Try harder.
The mount equipment should be something more like the old glyph style. Where you have to learn it once and then you can swap between those you have learned. I would be cool with this. I would even be okay having to learn on every character. Heck, I would even be okay with have to learn it on every character and can only swap at like a resting place or better yet a stables.
What I am not liking is have to pay and repay for something I already grinded and paid for. Itās like a bad choice at taco bell. I paid for it, and will be repaying for it rest of the night.
Tough cookies for the nookies?
which would be an option.
Though amazingly over the top stupid given that they COULD just leave the stinking mount with the ability it has had since MOP.
go troll elsewhere. Youre not required in here.
thx

Thatās why I mentioned the BoA oneās sent in the mail need to be unlimited usage. If I change to something else (very unlikely) and then want water walking restored, an unlimited use item in my bag would do the trick.

Im not ok with any of it.
I did the GRIND for the Water STrider AS it existedā¦not to have it nerfed because someone at Blizzard decided they wanted to drag out more of my play time.
Lordā¦sounds just like the absurdity of the pointless portal removals.
If you have the expectation that everything you acquire in the game is permanent, then you havenāt really been paying attention to WoW for the last 15 years.
Sorry again sonā¦how many mounts are there in this game that havent been changed other than to make them travel at any speed?
You can keep trying to convince yourself of this joke, but you obviously arent convincing anyone else in here.
Weāve covered this ground beforeā¦
If you have the expectation that everything you acquire in the game is permanent, then you havenāt really been paying attention to WoW for the last 15 years. āI spent a lot time on that, YOU CANāT TAKE IT!ā never has been and never will be a driver of game design here.
No, I am saying that they put it in game knowing very well people would only grind the reps for that specific feature. Blizzard was well aware of this when they put this in. And now they are back tracking, and making people pay for something that they already earned and paid for.
If you strip water walking from striders strip non-dismounting herbing from the golems. Itās not necessary for you to remain mounted while herbing.
In the past 15 years what MOUNT has been stripped of its passive ability?
Im not ok with any of it.
Overall, I think Blizzard is trying to accomplish something for the greater good.
Mount perks that (hopefully) wonāt be tied to specific expansions.
But if water walking with water striders cannot be used by all characters, current and future, without additional cost to the players who currently have them (pre-8.2), then it should be excluded and left as is, just like the sky golem.
In the past 15 years what MOUNT has been stripped of its passive ability?
Good question.
Any?
What we do know is:
If your goal is to have waterwalking while leveling, you can just enable the waterwalking Mount Equipment (there will be one available via Anglers reputation that will be bind-on-account),
from Kaivax.
Iām sure if all our alts were to be sent free water walking equipment heād have said so, rather than telling us where we can buy it.
When items are posted by Blizzard to each character they are never bind on account.

Thats what weāll find out if they remove this unacceptable PER character cost to buy crap I already earned.
But the question remainsā¦WHY do we have to scream about it before they recant? why do they perpetually screw things over, then have to face player fits over and over and over.
Didnt they learn to not intentionally screw with the player base who is paying the $$$ for those servers to stay plugged in?
Lordā¦been playing ESO every day, all day and have yet to find a single thing that agitates.
No flight, no water walking, no AHā¦and still somehow the game is 100 more fun/less irritating than WoW is.
The equipment is a gem-type item.
One use only, and any change of equipment destroys the one previously slotted into that characterās mount journal.

The only one I can think of is the Yak reforging NPC, but that was due to no more reforging in WoD. The reforger became the transmog NPC.
Thatās why I feel all concerned should jump on the PTR when their first iteration of 8.2 hits.
The PTR no longer requires a large download, as it shares files with your existing game data, and gets placed in a sub folder versus a separate install.
And we never had to pay for the transmog shop which replaced the reforger.
Preposterous I say.

When it comes to combat abilities and gear, yes, we know stuff has a limited shelf life.
Mounts and their abilities, and portalsā¦ Were not part of that. Not until more recently.
Permanence has extra value, people will work harder for it, and thought they were when they obtained their water walkers. There was no precedent setting an expectation that a āwater striderā would suddenly lose the ability it was named for.
So yeah, try again buddy.
