Clarity please on Water Strider

To me it’s not shocking that Blizzard is doing this it’s shocking the Strider worked outside of MoP zones at all.

Then the Grand Expedition Yak that I pay 120,000G for in MoP content shouldnt have the transmog and merchant work outside MoP content either, by that logic.

Sorry but MOUNTS that are ACCOUNT WIDE arent the same thing as my CHARACTER DEPENDENT artifact weapon/garrison.
and the portals should NEVER have been removed.
They have been there since MoP.

Did you need to farm rep from an old x-pac to get the Yak? That’s the difference.

Blizzard has been consistent about removing the need to go back to old content by taking away anything useful. The Strider was an anomaly.

This is a very good point. lol
Right now, I use water pools to jump into so I don’t die when the distance isn’t far enough to warrant a Goblin Strider. If I have water walking on all my mounts, I will have to dismount first then jump then remount just to keep from going splat on the solid water surface. I’m suppose to remember to do that after 14 years of not having to worry about it? ugh!

Gear based items have always been throw away progression. Aside from the change of the reforger on the Yak (because reforging went away) what mount abilities have changed?

The portals don’t make sense to me either, I liked the old system there.

The absolute fact of reality is that, just like the portal removals, this was SOLELY about DRAGGING out game time.
now Ihave to PAY for EACH character to have water walking that I did the grind for on two accounts.
Same thing with removing Master Loot.
Now guilds have to take longer to gear up.
That is the SOLE motivation these days with these changes
NOTHING is for OUR benefit.
NOTHING is done for OUR fun or enjoyment.
It is ALL about dragging out every stinking second of game time they possibly can.

Uhh that is the difference genius. A new player doesn’t need to grind Gold in MoP to buy the Yak. They can get the Gold and fly to Kun Lai and get it right now.

I’m not condoning anything bud. If you were paying attention this is how Blizzard has always done things. The Strider was going to be removed for the reasons I stated and they backed down at the last minute. It’s been on borrowed time since then.

See my answer above about the Yak. The Serpents are a completely cosmetic item and not the same at all.

Water Walking isn’t the issue. It’s the rep requirement for the Strider. Wake up.

The remove the requirements and put the mount on a merchant.

The only part of the Strider that a player needs to do in old content, is travel to the vendor on Timeless Isle to buy the rep tokens with timewalking badges, and then travel to the Anglers QM and buy the mount. The timewalking badges can even be earned from non-MoP timewalking dungeons.

Looks to me like it’s a current content achievable.

What part of that fact are you trying to dodge?
there was no NEED to make these changes.
They didnt screw with the sky golem, apparently. There was no valid reason to screw with the strider.

As a side note, and yeah, I understand you cant get it, but its FAR worse to screw over a mount we did the GRIND for as opposed to one I can just by a token for $20 and purchase.

i can fart and make $20 in the real world for a token to buy the Expedition Yak.
its ten stinking days of dailies for the strider.
THAT is the difference.
Dont screw with mounts we did a real grind for.
