Clarification on Razer Synapse

If I have Razer Synapse installed, but absolutely no keybinds that aren’t default, and have never enabled a single weird function of it while in WoW, am I still at risk of getting banned? Or is that only when anything “suspicious” gets logged? I need to buy a new mouse soon, and if Synapse is putting me at risk of getting banned for existing I’d rather get a different brand.

Sorry if asking this isn’t allowed, but I can’t think of a way a cheater could get anything useful off of this.

Been using synapse with wow for about 10 years at this point.

As long as you aren’t using macros to combine multiple actions onto a single button press, you’re fine.

I’ve use Synapse for a long time and have never had an issue. I don’t do the macros built into any mouse program to be honest. I only make macros in game that are allowed to be used.

I’ve used razer synapse for many years, as others have said if you’re just using it without any macros from outside the game you will be fine.

If a mouse key needs synapse to work then it’s probably software injected input / a macro.

The simple key rebinds are hardware based and don’t even need synapse open for other than the initial reprogramming IIRC.

While that’s true, if you want to have different mouse side bindings for different apps/games, you’ll need synapse running every time you want to swap.

And, even if you don’t tell the app to open on login, the service to manage it starts at boot.

Running the software to remap keys to mouse wont get you in trouble. The programmable macros will if you use them, only macros to use ones using wows macro tool kit

This right here was exactly what I was concerned about. But enough people are telling me that they use it the same way I do (runs in the background, but left untouched for WoW) that I’m confident I’ll be fine.

It’s no different from Logitech GHub or any of the other mouse/keyboard software out there. It’s capable of creating macros that violate the WOW terms of use. It’s not the software itself, it’s how you use it.

Exacly you can use the software to remap keys but do not touch the macros
