that I have to sit through the stupid and endless opening TWW vignette every other time that I log into WoW. I’m guessing it’s my punishment for not buying The War Within, and that seems pretty petty to me.
Not expecting a solution, just venting my frustration.
Lmao really? Didn’t know that happened if you didn’t own the expansion.
Seems kinda lame to do that.
Every time that I log into WoW. If I kill the window (process) and log back in quickly it doesn’t happen. Seems like a one or two minute window after I kill the process.
And yeah, pretty lame. I have watched the entire vignette, twice, so I should at least be able to escape out of it.
I can semi-relate. WoW keeps changing its resolution on me, and I have to keep changing it back.
Almost every time I start it.
Apparently it doesn’t play nice with Nvidia cards due to some recent updates.

I have a 3080ti and haven’t experienced any issue like that. That sucks, hopefully they’ll patch it soon.

That sounds like something with your specific set up. I have a 1080Ti and have also not experienced this.
Bro I own the expac and it still does it

I could understand if you were on a free trial account, but if you’re paying a sub you shouldn’t have to be spammed with this more than once a week tops.
The cinematic still plays? It really should not. Not for anyone once they have watched it unless they re-install.
Usually it is related to folder permissions and the cinematic “check” not saving after watching.

Yea it plays every time I start regardless of toon it’s no biggie tho. Thanks
Gotta be something with your user settings. Mine replays whenever I kill my WTF folder.

Configuration not saving is a consequence of installing the game in the Program Files folder. It makes it so stuff requires admin permission to run. Don’t do that.
This is definitely a problem with the OP’s system and not the game.

I have a 4090 and dont seem to have that issue. Probably your setup. Maybe do a scan and repair? Or uninstall and reinstall
For whatever reason, brand new install to my games drive set the WoW folder to “read only”. I was able to resolve by right clicking, properties, and clearing read only checkbox.

This is a user specific error.
Likely cause is addons because they are built for tww and it causes issues.
Additional causes can be blizzard not having full write access on your pc.
Definitely fixable though.
Wait is that why it happens?
Cause I’ve only ever seen that cinematic once and it never played again, so I was wondering why others keep seeing it.
The cinematic plays for me on EVERY TOON I log into. I have deleted my addons, I have turned my addons off. I have tried getting rid of the cache. Nothing works. Also, when I login and mount, I get 3 titles, every single time I mount for the first time when I login (Khanguard, Intrepid Explorer and Ally of Dragons).
Do you happen to know where the check is and if it can be manually edited?
I have a friend experiencing the same, and I’d rather not tell him to change his install path unless necessary.
Not off the top of my head. I would have to look it up. I am sure the info is out there but it is 3am and I am desperately trying to make myself fall asleep so probably should not go down that rabbit hole right this second.
If you, or someone else has not figured it out by tomorrow I will go hunting for you.
Sleep well, I’ll get off my proverbial laurels and root around myself if I have to.
