Goldie was sacrificing the long term stability of a business that had run effectively for hundreds, if not thousands of years, for one that wasn’t sustainable because she wanted immediate short term profits.

Definitely not a comment on modern capitalism.

It was in the contract.

Wenbrandt is the real villain. He didn’t read the contract. He didn’t like the outcome of the transaction. He hired murder hobos to kill the other party. And her clients. And her workers. And the bees. And the beer.
