Here I thought the Mists of Pandaria Remixed would kick off a whole new round of the Purge of Dalaran. Turns out it was the next Chronicles release.

Boy was I wrong.

Oh no, it definitely did. Chronicles just added to the grease fire.

More like chronicles added some much needed context for it. But we all knew it was coming

Imagine paying Blizzard to tell you lies.
But then again, I guess I pay Todd to tell me sweet little lies.

So the book ends with Anduin’s conversation with Sylvanas and him departing the Maw. The epilogue of Shadowlands where the Ruins of Lordaeron are reclaimed and the formation of the Desolate Council are not included.

Former Blizzard historian responds to the controversy, says their job is not to “bully” the devs about the canon.

That would be a decent drop off point because Blizzard will likely tie both reclaiming Lordaeron/Gilneas together. And since Gilneas was taking place in Dragonflight, well you get the idea.

Considering how they reframed the events of the Fourth War here, I wouldn’t be surprised if they had Lordaeron and Gilneas reclaimed at the same time.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but Genn attacking Sylvanas and shattering the Soulcage happens FIRST, and than while Sylvanas and Greymane are out of commission for a while, the champions of the horde and alliance go off in search of the Aegis of Aggramar.

Changes the order of events in Stormheim a bit. Still, I found it to be a interesting series of events

I could see why Blizzard did that. Have the faction conflict stuff all in one big chuck then have the Aegis, Skovald, Odyn stuff in another big chuck. But at the same time someone could view it as Blizzard not trusting their audiences intelligence to know what is what. Considering in game it goes

Initial Forsaken vs Gilneas → The three trials (rebuild the watcher, free the storm dragons, beat Helya at her own game) then you can either wrap up the main story by defeating Skovald, allowing you to go into the Halls of Valor while he licks his wounds or finish off the FvG plotline. With the implied order being FvG > Skovald > HoV dungeon given the quest line order in the Stormheim achievement.

Because with the order presented in Chronicles, neither faction will find Slyvanas in Helheim and have that small interaction.
