There was basically a whole HIstory of Blizzard having to do the Corporate dance of “No, we didn’t mess up, we MEANT to slam the door on our toes, it was all part of our multistage plan, you’ll see!” because old School Corporate PR is “never be seen as vulnerable” and it absolutely falls flat on it’s face in the wake of the more modern sensibilities of sincerity. It only made them look that much dumber
