Hi Horde character here. I tried all the suggestions in this thread and Chromie still wants me to go to Zandalar. Please make this easier to figure out.
Pretty sure it’s just a bug.
I have an issue with this as well. Chromie keeps saying that I have to tour the city and meet the king first and get acquainted with the present but I’ve done that already. The king isn’t even in the throne room, it’s High Exarch Turalyon. There’s nothing left of the intro quest left and Chromie still won’t let me pick a timeline.
I got the Come sail Away achievement on a new hunter I started today in Exile’s reach, still can’t unlock Chromie.
Can you please let us know what you did to fix the issue? For me, Chromie just says to tour the city and meet the king. I did the begining quests for BfA, Pandaria, and Cata, and still Chromie insists I have not met the king.
Confirmed: Do the quest to go to BFA and complete the “Come Sail Away” achievement. Do not select an area on the map, instead port to your city and talk to Chromie.
Not confirmed. I just did it and Chromie’s still telling me to talk to the King.
Anduin isn’t even there right now, and Turalyon won’t talk to me. And I already did the “talk to Anduin” quest anyway.
Two friends and I just finished Exile’s Reach. I was able to skip the tutorial and go to Chromie Time, they cannot. I’m really not sure what the fix is, having read this thread.
I’ll go through exactly what I did here, from the Horde perspective:
After getting out of Exile’s Reach, we did the intro to Orgrimmar quest right up until we were offered the quest that takes us to Nathanos, to begin BFA. We did not take the quest, and after trying to talk to Chromie, we ended up taking a portal to Silvermoon (mostly to avoid the lag in Orgrimmar while we figured out what the heck to do). As soon as we got to Silvermoon we were given the prompt to leave the tutorial- which we did. This did not unlock Chromie Time.
We figured the best thing to do would be to get the Zuldazar intro quest out of the way and unlock Dazaralor as a hub, which we did. Skipping the Stormwind extraction scenario and questing right up until we got the achievement for the zone intro, we went back to Orgrimmar to see if that worked… to no avail.
I then stumbled into Grommash Hold, thinking there might be a quest there, but noticed the hall was phased entirely, with how it was after Sylvanas had just handed us the quest to meet with Nathanos at the bar for the Stormwind extraction- but also standing there in the hall was Warlord Breka, the npc from Exile’s Reach. Talking to her offered the dialogue option to skip the tutorial, “I already know my way around Orgrimmar” etc- and that immediately phased Grommash Hold back to the unphased version, with the usual npcs inside. Chromie Time was finally available!
I really hope this helps. I haven’t seen where the Alliance npc might be in this case, but hopefully they’re either at the gates of Stormwind where you’d spawn in right after leaving Exile’s Reach, or in the throne room.
I did that, chromie still isn’t working for me.
New player here. Having the same issue butt i wasnt sure what was going now im level 37 only from bfa dungeons and quest which i do not want to play.chromie has no dialogue options for me and i tried to speak with people in the ogrimmar throne room but i have had no luck.really dont want to play bfa anymore please help.
Same issue here. Very aggravating! Cannot even play because Chromie is not allowing me to do anything!!
If this is your first character, you’ll have to reach level lvl 50 first through BFA before you’ll have access to Chromie Time on other characters, I’m sorry to say!
You have to make sure to complete the Tutorial or Chromie will not work. If you complete the quest An End to Beginnings when you first arrive to Stormwind or Org. Click you already know your way around and it will give you the quest to talk to Chromie. IF you do select to take the tour, you have to speak to the captain and tell her that you want to part ways. Finish the BFA intro then go back and talk to Chromie. I hope this helps.
I did that in the Alliance side. But Chromie did not gave me the option to start the timewalking before doing the bfa’s first scenario (the prision where we met Flynn) and the initial quests to unlock the portal room in Boralus. Only after that i was able to talk to Chromie and change my lvling zone.
Still broken on alliance and forces you to do a work around. I know blizzard are focused on Shadowlands but a LOT of people are levelling atm.
is there a TLDR post of how to fix this? My wife and I literally did everything together, and I’m able to see Chromie and do that, but she can’t. Really need some help.
I am still having this problem. I have level 50 characters, I completed the BFA starter quests up to the achievement “Come Sail Away”. Chromie says “Maybe I can send you back once you’ve toured the city and met with the king” but it’s Turalyon in the Keep and can’t find Anduin. I’m not 100% sure if I completed the tour, but I can’t find an NPC anywhere in SW.
Has anyone else received this text from Chromie and figured out how to phase the Keep back to pre-prepatch?? So frustrating…
Just a note to say I got the same problem with my Level 49. I solved the problem by canceling the campain chromie give me when I switched to present time. (I cannot be 100% certain it is just that since I teleported my character to his Garrison and took the portal to Stormwind instead of teleporting with the Hearthstone in the Garrison just before that). The reason is when I switched to present time before all that. The only option chromie gave me was present time. That was strange…
Once you hit 48, it doesn’t seem like you’re able to switch between different Chromie Time expansions or choose a new one, you can only switch back to present time if you aren’t already there. (The shadowlands intro quest is given to you at 48, presumably why the choice is locked at that point.)
