"Chosen Identity" and not being able to stay in Human Form

Yeah, but they’re still a cat in any of those forms. None of the choices takes away the appearance outright.

Evokers are draconic, the appearance of being draconic is part of the class fantasy. Why water that down and turn the class into just another humanoid mage?

Having said that, dracthyr definitely need slightly beefier/skinnier appearances, and additional transmog options.

I think I understand your point here and other people’s:

If that many spells that you listed above shifts us into our dragon form AND they’re a core part of our rotation, then you may as well not have the option at all since you’ll be in dragon form 99% of the time.

I don’t disagree with this sentiment and generally agree unless they decide to rework certain spells to not automatically shift us.

Frankly, I’m all for cosmetic diversity either way but I understand the points of both crowds.

I think retaining the aesthetic just for… aesthetic purposes is a bit of a moot point since this doesn’t affect you? You can be/will be in dragon form whenever/however much you want.

This is again only for people who don’t want to play in Draconic form. This is the only class that has a “support” dps role. That is entirely unique and limited by the fact that you must play in draconic form. I am happy to keep Evoker a class specific to Dracthyr, however and I really feel I need to emphasize this, this change doesn’t impact you??

This adjustment just adds accessibility to players who wish to play Evoker as a Dracthyr in Humanoid form. This doesn’t hurt your aesthetic, this doesn’t change your gameplay, yo are still a dragon at all times.

This is STRICTLY for players using the “Chosen Identity” option to stay in humanoid form as much as possible.

I really don’t see your points, your points are all specific to how it’ll affect you, yet I keep saying/explaining that this doesn’t affect you, at all, not even a little bit. This allows other players, who use “chosen identity” to play as a humanoid. Not You.

Please fully read the post, I have explained this many times now.

Ps. I am also not against them adding/making adjustments to how transmogs work for Dracthyr as well, that’s an entirely separate fun point that I am totally for.

I just don’t see anyones reasoning in gatekeeping an entire class because it changes your “aesthetic” even though factually it doesn’t change anything about the game for you.

As for the people that state that it doesn’t make “sense”… well well. Neither does allowing new races becoming Death Knights, yet here we are. Neither does allowing Balance Druids to be in humanoid form, yet here we are.

The changes mentioned above don’t hurt anyone, except allow for new/other players to play it, and to limit this and to say it hurts you is gatekeeping the class/limited the class.

“Share in the sanbox…”

Ultimately, the root of the problem of this discussion is that Dracthyr cannot transmog items aside from shoulders and belts in their dragon form. I say the first priority is to allow Dracthyr to have the option to transmog all their gear on the dragon model and to keep humanoid and dracthyr transmog separated.

This way, instead of us advocating the permanent use of humanoid form for Evokers, it will allow us to fully express ourselves visually in our dragon forms, which I agree is intrinsically tied to the class fantasy of an Evoker.

I disagree.

You are entitled to your own opinion on this however. I also suggest creating your own post advocating for transmogs for dracthyr.

However, that is not what my post is about or what I am asking for.

It changes the uniqueness of the class. Imagine a warlock. Now imagine 30 different variations of warlock just because people hate the graphics or themes.

Demons are scary, and against religion allegedly, replace it with multiple light elementals.
etc

It would no longer be “warlock” anymore.

Visage shouldn’t exist. Blizzard should have never opened that door

They be better off to delete it and let Dracthyr wear armor

What you’re suggesting and what I’m suggesting are entirely different things. I’m not asking to remove anything, I’m asking to allow us to do something that is already available within the game.

Your reaching really hard with that and you don’t even have a stepping stool. Asking to be able to stay in Visage vs Adding multiple changes/adjustments/new models/30 variations to a warlock is well beyond what I am asking.

We are already able to be in visage form, let us stay in it. Not asking you to add/change/etc.

All you Dracthyr that are so protective of this. I really don’t understand, why gatekeep a class when it has 00000% effect on you. The class still remains unique as it’s the literal only 1. Evoker, 2. Dragon. You want to limit other peoples ability to play it to retain some sort of hipster unique vibe? Girl. I am so over these comments.

Allowing people to play as a Visage is easy, doesn’t hurt your gameplay or aesthetics, and if you think it does you need to do some inward searching to why you’re upset about it. Period.

It’s the same principle.

It’s changing something fundamental to the class because some people don’t like the aesthetic.

And what’s wrong with “warlock” that has light elementals? or water. (Not mage.)

Your class still plays the same, how does it affect you?

Warlocks are available for multiple races with full transmog. Evokers dont have either option because of time and money, both of which are explained away behind lazy lore reasons. People want permanent visage, more visage, and full transmog because they dont like the race. At least with DH you can fully transmog over the race, but we dont even have that. We are the worst looking class in the game.

Visage gives Blizzard a convenient excuse not to have transmog for evokers. Better if visage never existed or if we could choose any race (as lore dictates.)

We lost the chance for full transmog when the forums went crazy over 2h weapons showing on the back clipping into stuff

Sure then go ahead, it doesn’t change/hurt me or my warlock. I am happy if more people get to play Warlock if their interests/accessibilities are met to be able to play a class.

I won’t hold onto a class aesthetic and limit other peoples ability to play. However I would still point out, that again, what I’m asking is already in the game and does make sense with the idea that Dracthyrs have a “chosen identity” meaning they can look however they want, meaning they can look human at all times if they want to. Just like the aspects, just like the aspects before they got their power. Your point doesn’t work here because I’m saying these things so more people can enjoy WoW, your point is to limit it for less people to enjoy a class that only 1 race can play.

Make it make sense.

Meaning, without using dragon abilities else they shift to dragon form.

Would WOW be more popular or less if Demon Hunters were launched with it being available to every race? Illidan has to atone for his transgressions.

Demon hunters were far more special than … monk.

its funny to see people gatekeep the least played class/race in the game. they opened up the race to other classes and even combined its a sub 1% with evokers being 3% of the player base. what kind people would rather have/see less people playing a class than have a chance at more. these arguments just sound like them saying " i like it so idc if nobody plays it because its good enough for me and thats all that matters."

this really should be an option, I bought such a beautiful Christmas tree shaped staff and I barely see it.

This is why I tend to run 1h weapons even if they’re not optimal. Weapons are one of the few pieces we can see so I’d rather not have yet another piece not be visible lol.

and it sucks cause they are a caster that can use 2h weapons. some mogs i can make look so awesome with a 2h sword or a 2h axe but i cant see any of it

Yeah dragon form is horrendously ugly. People here defending it don’t even play the current patch and are malding out. I’ll never understand who signed off on these cringe dragon skeletons at blizzard.

Won’t even get into how they chose two of the lamest visage models to use instead of picking your own (male belf and female human are just bad).

I play current patch and defend it.
