I’m gonna keep this plain and simple. It’s entirely possible and the Devs really need to listen to the people.
I’ve seen countless posts about people wanting to play Evoker but can’t get into the dragon form. The Dracthyr have this whole undergoing of discovering their “True Identity” and “Chosen Identity”. However, the moment the player starts to play and deal damage as an evoker, they are thrown back into their Dracthyr form, or at least when they use dragon abilities. It is entirely possible for these to function JUST like that of the DH, where we transform for the ability and back out asap.
The term “Chosen Identity” and then making my choice moot, is entirely counterproductive to the point of the spell, point of the characters perspective and POV.
I really hope this post goes somewhere and makes the devs listen to us. We just want to play Evoker without being a dragon, at least, for the greater part of combat.
I really like the human Dracthyr form but just cannot get into the Dracthyr form, they’re clunky, look weird, walk weird, and are just not my cup of tea for lack of more details.
Let your players play as their “Chosen Identity” which for some of us is humans, and for others it’s as the Dracthyr, this change harms NO ONE. All it does is provides accessibility to the class that allows more players to enjoy Evoker as a whole.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk. (I said this would be short haha, hindsight 2020 ;;))
If you wanna be in Dragon form, go ahead, some of us don’t want to be. As I said earlier, this doesn’t harm you, you can still be a dragon/dragonoid/dracthyr.
I really don’t see a reason to limit other people from having fun. I also stated it was possible to do exactly what they’ve done with Demon Hunter, and have you change forms ONLY for specified spells.
It’s not that complicated and a lot of people who wish to play the class likely would. Meaning more Evokers and happier players.
I don’t see why not give Evokers the same thing as other Dracthyr classes.
If it’s about the abilities that wouldn’t physically function with the visage form, there’s a solution: shift to dragon just for it, and when the ability is done, shift back.
Yall are wild for wanting to gatekeep an entire class because you think what we want “doesn’t make sense”. We are playing a FANTASY game where LOTS of things don’t make sense.
If someone wants to play a class, this is the single only class that is specific to their race.
Once again, the change would only affect those that don’t want to see their dracthyr form, this doesn’t hurt any of you, at all, in any single way. You can still play as a dracthyr, and see your form, whenever you want, at all times. This is for Visage form and the people that use it.
We are interested in playing Evoker, the main reason why we (myself and many others) make these posts as we are interested and want to play a class but are limited in how the class currently presents itself.
You are incorrect - it doesn’t NEED to use dragon form for many of the abilities. And as I have stated at least a FEW times, the humanoid form could transform into dracthyr for the sake of a “dracthyr specific spell” for it to “make sense” and then return to a humanoid form.
As I have also stated a few times, this doesn’t hurt you, at all, doesn’t even change your gameplay, it just adds accessibility for others to play the class.
Dismissing or stating points against it is holding the class hostage from the rest of us.
Sharing in the sandbox is a nice and chill thing to do.
The minimum list of spells by default that should turn into a dracthyr then: Fire Breath, Eternal Surge, Disintegrate, Hover, Deep Breath and Dragon Rage.
If you guys have nothing to add to the post other than “Just don’t be Evoker” then I politely ask you to refrain from engaging. You’re not providing constructive conversation.
Feral Druids being in forms is a moot point considering there are many races that are able to be druids, tons and tons of forms to choose from. Also a counter-argument in saying “Well this class can’t do that either” (Feral Druid) doesn’t help your point, === since they can’t have it you can’t have it either. Try applying that to other situations in your life and you may not appreciate that sentiment all that much.
You are free to make your own post about druids not being able to be in humanoid form if you feel passionate about it.
