Chose Wrong Character Transfer Service

Hey,
I accidentally chose the Retail Character Transfer Service as opposed to the Wrath Classic Character Transfer Service. I haven’t used any of the transfers and I just bought it. I was wondering if there was a way to get my money back as I didn’t know there were two separate services for retail and classic.

If you go through the Support Site for a refund, the system should check your recent purchases. You may automatically qualify for a refund so you don’t have to wait for a Game Master to review it.

If you do not, putting a ticket as Perl mentioned will allow our staff to take a look.

Hi there,

I’ve accidently done the same re: purchased a retail character transfer instead of classic (after returning from a multi-year hiatus).

Instantly requested a refund (so I could repurchase the correct transfer) via ticket since the order wasn’t listed under customer facing automated refund requests.

Agent responds with:
“If your order is eligible for a refund, you will be able to request it automatically at the link below:

Feel like I just got scammed out of $36 CAD.

I feel like as if not all are aware of the refund policy in this instance, which in this case is as follows:

World of Warcraft Game Services

We’ll refund certain World of Warcraft services within three days of purchase. Examples include:

Race, Name, or Faction Changes
Character Transfers
Guild Name Changes

Please be mindful of the dates this thread a year old better to start a new thread then necroing a yr old thread. You werent scammed you just made a mistake by not paying attention to whatbyoubwere purchasing.

If you receive a templated response (I don’t think you will here, but I have been wrong in the past), there will be an option to the tune of “I still need help.” Hit that button and it will kick it back for a GM to manually review things for you.

The link the GM gave you is different than the one specifically for WoW which takes you through the system to see if you automatically qualify.

Though it sounds like you may have already gone through the process and it wasn’t showing. I wonder if it may be now.

No worries at all. You’re not the first and you certainly won’t be the last to mistakenly purchase a wrong service :wink:

Once you do get the refund, I’d recommend logging into the game (Classic or WotLK Classic) to make sure that you’re getting the right transfer. I’m pretty sure that in the Classic games you can still purchase them from the in-game shop.
