Choosing Who you play with is NOT Gatekeeping

Because inevitably they will add bonuses to using the RDF and that will draw a large pool of people into it even though they would rather have not had to use it for the bonuses. Furthermore RDF has not in the past locked you to a heroic, so what you will end up with is is tanks queueing up, not getting the heroic they want and dropping out. In the past the queue broke a lot so after waiting 15-30 minutes in queue to get the dungeon and the tank leaving, the queue would just sit there not finding anyone. Beyond the technical issues and that level of toxicity, it mixes the sweaty with the non sweaty and those two factions clearly clash.

Currently the gatekeeping is a GOOD thing. Sweaty people dont want you in their group because they are looking for like minded gamers, you should look for like minded gamers in the same way. Go ahead, lead a group and gatekeep, post “no one with any good gear gtfo if you arent in greens” and im sure you will have millions of people lined up to afk your dungeon and need on everything.

sweaty doesn’t have to use it. I only have good memories of using RDF back when it came out at the end of WoTLK

Yeah RDF was recieved great at the start, until people saw how it damaged socialization.

If there are bonuses they will feel they have to use it, for the bonuses. Thats what sweaty people do, they minmax everything, and RDF will be part of that no matter how many times you claim “they wont have to use it”.

If RDF is in the game, the sweaty people will be in there yelling at you instead. Odds are they will queue up with 3 friends and strong arm the dungeon, kicking any one that they dont need. This happened a lot in retail. Ask me how I know? I have been in some pretty toxic guilds. I recognize these things because I knew people that were proud to kick players like yourself.

People that require gear be t6 for leveling dungeons are just bad at the game. Yes, I acknowledge the gear is super good, but that’s not an excuse to all of a sudden shun players based on this, especially from a leveling dungeon. I’ve had boosted players do just fine compared to the players that are try-harding group runs and are performing better compared to the geared players.

It’s already damaged now and is worse compared to what RDF would offer.

those players are looking for super geared people to make the leveling quicker, if you dont have the gear then odds are you dont care to level as quickly and they dont want you in their group slowing them down. No idea why you take it personal, just make a group and invite who you want. You are not entitled to be in some one elses group.

Not everyone listing themselves does a dungeon to just spam it, never assume they all are. And I’m curious, what makes you think I’m personally insulted by this? I’m not, but it seems like I struck a nerve with you based on how you are acting, and you seem more personally insulted by it.

Oh im not insulted I dont have to pug anything ever, but you seem upset that people dont want your poor geared character to soak xp from people that put in more effort than yourself.

Nah, you are acting like it’s very personal with me and trying to act like all II want to do is spam dungeons, it’s the opposite. Spamming dungeons is boring to me, just like how questing to you is boring. Again, why are you personally insulted for me making a remark that boosted players can actually do well compared to a t6/pvp welfare gear player?

why are you assuming I didnt quest? I did quests after I got 77 on day one, way ahead of every one it was super nice.

I dont believe you do well compared to people with better gear than you, maybe you ended up in the group with a pure buyer that bought all their gear and use it to front, those people get booted from the dungeon pretty quick, you just dont see it.

You…You Doorman. Your not a gatekeeper. Your just a lowly doorman.

I can say the same for you on assumptions my guy.

were you doing massive pulls in a three man group in poor gear? I dont believe you if you say yes. We were pulling entire quarters and aoeing it down, wouldn’t take some one in poor gear because there is no way they would even come close.

Yep, they don’t understand why people prefer geared players - because we’re doing spam groups for hours? A bad player will slow you down significantly, and in the case of 3 man runs, prevent them from happening.

yeah they want me to take people doing half the damage the tank is doing, they just dont have a clue because they were never invited to a group doing it.

I don’t push people to do pulls of how I feel vs them. If they don’t feel comfortable doing mass pulls, I don’t rage about it and boot them. I just do the dungeon, as a group.

yeah and you have all the right in the world to make your group like that, why do you frown at us for not wanting to take 6 extra hours to level to 80 by bringing a person not prepared to do what our group is doing?

Nobody does this. At most they’ll kick after the dungeon is over. What really happens is a casual player gets MAD they weren’t invited to a hardcore sweaty run, claim the tool sucks or the wait is “too long” and demands RDF.

These guys dont realize they are the toxic ones, demanding to profit off our hard work and preparation having put nothing in themselves.

I used sappers and bombs on cd, full consumes, our caster and healer slammed mana pots on cd. Kind of nuts that these guys think they should even be considered for an invite to groups like this.

I’ve always used consumable as necessary.

It’s like, do you flask and food and pot every fight in Karazhan? When Sunwell is out?

If the fight needs it I’ll use them, but I’m not flasking for dungeons, or Kara. Naxx might not even need consumables, that remains to be seen but if you don’t waste what you don’t need you can save that for later when you do need them.
