lol I didn’t run dungeons outside of my guild in classic or tbc because there was no RDF. RDF was in Wrath for almost half of the expansion. It came out in patch 3.3.5 and we are in 3.4. It should be in the game.
None of what you mention meets that definition since it’s all a part of playing the game. It’s not tedium for tedium’s sake and there’s progression involved. Something like Blizzard removing flying mounts and then putting trolling mountains, thousands of mobs everywhere and huge terrain obstacles all over the place just to make it take longer and to get from one place to another is tedium for tedium’s sake. Requiring players to use a convoluted system and spam chat to put a group of randoms together IS tedium for tedium’s sake.
Now if you find the GAME tedious, then perhaps you should find another game. But don’t confuse LFG with playing the actual game.
And if thats how you wnated to run dungeons that fine, most of us are saying thats a pretty good way to get dungeons done as well, guilds and are there for that.
It was most definitly NOT in for half of wrath lol.
3.0 dropped in October of 2008, patch 3.3 dropped in december of 09 so a little over a year was without RDF/cross server LFG,
3.3 lasted until the the last patch of 3.3.5a which was june of 2010.
So no about 2/3s of the game was with out the RDF tool.
Technically longer since you can count all of classic and BC with out the LFD and RDF tool as well.
Really though the best advice i can give you, and anyone who is not satisfied with the game because it does not have the features you want, is not to play it, or play another game, because thats honestly the best thing you can do as a consumer. If its not what you want it to be, dont pay for it. Lifes to short to pay for a product and play a game you dont like, its why i stopped playing retail and came to classic.
Wrath didn’t have RDF for 26 more days than it had RDF. That’s pretty close to half lol.
and Cata dropped in dec 2010 (the end of Wrath).
Yes, but being technically right is still being right.
Thanks, I agree that I was technically right when I said…
a difference of 26 days is almost half.
What do you define “playing the game” as? Because I would say “interacting with the game, it’s systems, and the other players in the game” as “playing the game”. By that definition, having the game open, using the LFG tool, and speaking with other players to form a group just as much “playing the game” as “running from mob to mob and using a 3 button combo to fill a bar”.
Is raid logging playing the game? Because that’s where my healer is at this point without RDF.
Yes you are playing when you raid.
We get it, you dont wanna play with out RDF, what do you want us to say? Beg you to stay? PLEASE PLEASE KEEP USING A SYSTEM YOU DONT ENJOY!
We arnt, if you dont like it dont play it, its that simple thats literally the stance of almost everyone. No one is forcing you to play it.
Purely by your own choice. You sound like a child throwing a tantrum. It’s fine, don’t play, you’re one healer among many, nobody will miss you.
The time between raids would not be, but logging in for raids would be. That being said, if you’re raid logging, I think that says more about the content than it does the RDF tool. If the content isn’t fun enough for you to invest time into finding a group into, is the content itself really that fun? I’d say probably not, in which case, why are you doing it in the first place?
Taking longer to form a group than it takes to complete the dungeon is not fun for me.
Then dont play.
I dont find retail fun, so i dont play it.
It just sounds like he expects his guild to carry him, since he’s not getting the rep grinds and emblems. I am sure he’s a top healer.
Oh neat. Spamming chat with political nonsense is now playing the game.
Literally no one is suggesting that lol.
Right, but again, doesn’t that say something about the value of the content? Seems to me like wrath dungeons aren’t even worth bothering with in the first place. At the end of the day, most wrath content is actually still pretty boring. Raids and dungeons are easy, but people are so trained to chase the carrot that they will still put themselves through mind numbing, boring gameplay just for number-go-up
I mean thats kinda the entire point of wow. You play the game to get bigger numbers so that you can raid to get gear with bigger numbers.
Apparently some are.
I have my head enchant, hodir epic enchant, and tailoring and enchanting maxed. I have all pre-raid bis except my chest. Thanks for playing.
