China Approves Acquisition of Activision Blizzard

I just have a feeling microsoft will increase the sub price, they need to recoup the money they will pay for the buy out.

This cope is a bit ridiculous at this point. You think things are min-maxed on a profit to investment level now, wait until this merger. I swear people think this means WoW is going to get 50x the budget it presently does or something. They’ll look and see where they’re putting in the least to get the most return and try to ride that line. You’re not getting grandiose content patches with the merger, you’re getting a harder lean into whatever they’ve determined to be the breadwinner. If that ends up being tokens, expect a lot of changes to encourage people buying Mythic carries for things like cosmetics. Microsoft will quadruple down on that harder than Blizzard ever did.

??? Homie I didnt need a long drawn out response for something I was very clearly making a joke of.
It doesnt affect me either way jesus take a breather

Not even sure why anyone needs to ask china anything for permission. They shouldn’t have a seat at the table.

Only approving authority should be the U.S. if it is an American owned company.

The USA long ago abdicated its power in business affairs. It started with NAFTA and ends with an international court that oversees international trade.

I find it interesting that a game company merger brings all these behind-the-scenes processes to light. They’ve been regulating international business affairs for decades now, which the USA is voluntarily part of. There are even clauses concerning the enforcement of this international court that would allow foreign troops on US soil.

Probably gonna get banned for this but #freehongkong!

@ evelyana your face…what happened to it?

I tried to warn em to not take both the red and blue pill at once… taking both causes the user to faceplant the matrix…

well they stated that Bobby kottic would be replaced after the merger.

Bobby has been no good for this game.

so yeah it would definitely be an improvement.

While I know that some indie titles can be quite popular (considering Minecraft used to be one until Mojang was bought by MS), I am not really sure that they have as big a share to be a concern to the big boys in the industry.

It’s kinda like saying it’s OK for Windows to be this big entity in the Operating System market because Linux and OSX exist (even though those two don’t quite have the same type of market share Windows does).

(I probably should say that I am not technically for or against the MS acquisition of Activision-Blizzard, I am just laying out what appears to be a major concern).

Why do people hide their public profiles on wow forums? What’s the point? I just wanted to see your mog jeez how rude!

A wow without Bobby Kotick would automatically be better. A Blizzard without Bobby would automatically be better for their employees.

The CMA looks dumber by the day with their asinine decision. Blizz hired the queen’s lawyer and even the UK PM doesn’t agree with their decision, the EU approval is a direct rebuttal of the CMA and they are trying to stubbornly stick to their guns.
