Just annoying people claim america is super racist when we are the least soâŚwe are the most culturally and ethnically diverse country in the world.
People could literally go to anywhere else in the world and would find getting a job or even renting a place is extreamly difficult as other places discriminate heavily agains foreigners.
Japan for example refused to even allow nonjapanese citizens to enter stores during covid and blamed English speakers of spreading covid because of the âpâ pronunciation.
Also unless a job has your lodging ready you aint gonna have a good time finding a home.
Other places refuse you service. America is extreamly welcoming of immigrants of all culturesâŚthats why people still flock here.
That people seem to still think america is systematically racist and needs these kinds of positions shows they are living in a completely different reality of delusion built on lies or assumption.
America isnt perfect, still plenty of issues but its so much better then most other places.
As for her specifically great I hope it brings positive change and a better wow⌠But with discrimination laws to working already a thing it seems unnecessary a title only ment to cherry pick and to allow discrimination by calling it âinclusiveâ any form of selecting over others purely based on sex,gender, religion, or race and ethnicity is discrimination, it doesnt matter if its to bring diversity⌠Thus why most say to choose based on skill. That is how jobs should pick and choose. If your color or sex or identity plays any part in getting the position then youre being tokenized and it demeans you getring that position.
We just had a female lead leave blizz months ago who was only hired onto that because she was a woman⌠Not for her hard work or meritâŚand thus she quit because that and not being paid as much as her male counterpart.
I feel this HR position allows discrimination while calling it diversity is the way I see it and its not how we should judge peoples worthâŚ

The definition of the word woman is not a âhot button topicâ in America.
The hot button topic is that elite institutions are disputing the definition of the word woman. A majority is unsettled by this, for obvious reasons.

Hopefully not a fake/token gesture, like that LGBT woman we had a while back.
Her placement up there was entirely fake and to make them âfeel heardâ. She didnât appreciate that.
We need some genuine diversity from people that enjoy this particular work.

You are right that other countries have it a lot worse. But a ton of slime instead of a pool of slime is still slime. Working towards what is fair is a good goal.
The âothers have it worseâ thing has been used for generations to dismiss valid complaints. Yeah, it is MORE terrible over there, but that does not excuse similar things here.
Sadly there is a faction in the US that numbers in millions that HATE the diversity and any immigrant. This goes back a long way.
While the overall official goal of the US is inclusion of all immigrants, that is now how it is currently being practiced. The US has a long history of people being against any cultural difference. There is a reason they would not hire Irish - or Chinese or anything else.
Change is a work in progress and I hope to see that continue. If you think we donât need work - you may be innocent and naive. There is a reason we review old laws, medical practices, etc that categorized people by race, religion, etc - and dealt with them as such instead of as individuals. It is way better than it was! No argument there, but still has progress to go.
I have a lot of painful personal stories. You can make a company millions, and still be told you slept your way to it or were a diversity hire. It is infuriating to have to be many times better than peers, and even when you succeed they dismiss you. And no, it was not just âwhite malesâ. It was complicated.

Obviously itâs probably just to save their own behind. Especially now that they got a union starting to roll as well lol. I still think itâs a good thing nonetheless, I just hope the company and itâs employees and employer gives her the respect she deserves.

Itâs insane that in this day in age with all kinds of information available people still insist on trying to handicap one of the things that carries the US.
SOTUS nominations cannot be rigged. And despite what people would claim there actually isnât anyone that is âqualifiedâ for the position.

Having some hidden hand tipping the scale in my favor during hiring would be a mortifying, not proud, experience. To be the kid at the party who was not invited by the others but had to have my mother call their mother for the invitation. What have you actually won?
Who wants to actually work in an environment like that in the first place? Sounds like youâre going to end up spending far too much time and effort hyperlitigating perceived microaggressions than doing what you were hired and being paid to do. Miserable to any well-adjusted person, but for someone who lives to stir the pot it would be paradise.
Mildly disappointing that the person selected wasnât Native American or even Jewish - folks who donât really have a safe, native land as a refuge for when the big bad comes to harass them.
