As the title says, one of my characters has had all of it’s chat channels disappear after I transferred servers on them. Their main chat channels, custom channel I have added them to and the communities that they are in all have their channels missing. I have to add them back in each time I log in. Whenever I log out, they disappear again and are gone by the time I log back in again. This problem only affects the one character who transferred servers.
I could see it losing the custom channels on transfer and having to add them again, but they should be ok and not disappear after that, so that definitely weird. I am not sure if this configuration/setup is server side or client side, if its client side, it could be your character file is corrupted, while you can delete the whole character directory for that account, I would probably try and go thru the directory and just delete everything for that server for that specific character, then restart, so it rebuilds the files again. Bit of a long shot, but wouldn’t take much time to test. I do think you would probably need to add the custom channels again.
Try doing a full UI Reset.
I have done a full UI reset, but that didn’t help. I’ll try the character file stuff, see if that can’t help fix it.

Unfortunately this didn’t work. I tried it and they are still dropping off.

I have before, but I tried it again after attempting the other fixes just now and it unfortunately also didn’t work. I’ll try running through the full UI reset again though.
Small update. After doing a full UI reset, everything still resets the chat channels on logging out, but now if I reset chat defaults in the chat settings, it brings the original main channels back each time, but I still have to do that and add the custom channels and community channels each time I log in
Sorry to hear it didn’t work, I figured it was a long shot, but you never know, sometimes the easy things can fix stuff which is nice. It very will could be an issue with your character’s data that is stored server side. If thats the case, it would probably require a ticket, I am guessing they have a process to rebuild/fix character data, but someone on the support team would need to address it, so probably opening a ticket should be your next option fi you haven’t opened one already.
Hopefully if they can fix it will be a simple thing may resolving the issue in the next couple of days, depending on the current ticket volume, though unfortunately the weekend could slow things down
Outside of that, maybe one of the blues will stop by and give some advice. Good luck and hope someone has some better suggestions that can maybe fix the issue.

Usually you can reopen the ticket. I would suggest logging in and seeing if you can update it, advise you went to the forum however your still having problems. Then give a short concise bulleted list of everything you have tried.

Thank you. I see a button to reopen the ticket, but when I click on it, it just opens the ticket window again and doesn’t allow a response.

I have gone ahead and done that as well, just to be on the safe side. Trying to dot my i’s and cross my t’s.
It’s possible also that it would be a two stop process. Reopen the ticket, then pull the ticket up again and respond with additional information once its been reopened, it’s been a bit since I have submitted a ticket so I don’t have great recollection of all the steps.
A second ticket did the trick! It took an update and then a repair of my game files. I then restarted the game, reset my chat data, reset my game again and all my channels were back.

It turned out to not actually be the solution. It flickered and worked for the evening, but today it’s back to not working.
