I purchased a character transfer to a new realm, I had 100k on the toon. It’s now telling me I exceed the transfer limit and I can’t do anything. Has this happened to anyone else.

What level is the character you are trying to transfer?

There are gold limits based on level:

  • You cannot transfer a character that exceeds the gold limit for its level
Character Level Maximum Gold
10-39 10,000g
40-49 250,000g
50 1,000,000g

Level 40 with only 105,000 gold on it I read that already and it should allow me. Now my character is stuck unable to do anything for the next 2 days while I wait for this ticket.

That is odd that it is not allowing the transfer to process. Hopefully, Blizzard can answer your ticket soon.

I am also having this issue, level 45 with 85000 gold but unable to transfer…

I would submit a ticket, and post in the Bug Report Forum.

A game client update was released on Friday with a fix for gold transfer limits. If you’re still getting an error, can you please try using the Blizzard Launcher to check for game client updates?

Up to date, still can’t transfer because of the gold.

Ok thanks for confirming. It’s possible the client changes require server side changes as well. I’m seeing some info indicating that is still a work in progress.

Game Masters won’t be able to bypass these restrictions. Apologies for the delay!

Quick hijack since you’re here;

I have to faction change then server change & faction change since GMs are unable to remove my pending faction change – will I have to wait 72 hours to transfer after my already pending faction change is used?

Yea, in this case you would. Sorry! I know you had a couple tickets asking if there was a way around that but it couldn’t be done because of how long ago the FC was bought :frowning:

I’m having the same issue… Everything up to date, paid for a lvl 40 DK server transfer and faction change. Server transfer went just fine, and I can log in (after a name change) on the toon. But when I try to faction change I’m hit with the “amount of gold exceeds the limit” message. 109k on a lvl 40 Character.

At least you guys are being able to transfer. I have a pending ticket on the website to the point where i’m just going to request a refund and call it quits. Been gone for over 6 years, finally comeback to the game buy the coming xpack and cant xfer off my server OR OPEN a ticket IN GAME. So I said maybe its bad files. I did a full REINSTALL and yet I still cant XFER off my SERVER or OPEN A TICKET to GM.

To be clear, this discussion is regarding gold limits preventing character services. As I’ve said, it’s a known issue receiving attention from the game team.

If you are experiencing this issue, I’d encourage you to wait for that fix to come through.

If you’re not experiencing that issue, then I’d ask that you not derail this discussion with a different subject. Please feel free to create your own thread and provide details of your problem if you’d like advice/troubleshooting recommendations.
