Character Transfer

Me and my guild planned on moving as a group From Thalnos to Netherwind.
I worked the past few days and was unable to transfer while the rest of my Guild did.
However, now that the large majority of them have moved Blizzard is no longer allowing my character to move to the correct server.
I can only transfer from Thalnos to Earthfury.
Is there any way to change my option of the destination server?

Afraid not. Those transfers are put in place as needed - as to where they are needed for numbers.

Really wish they would add a couple non RP server choices to transfers off of the RP and RPPVP servers.

That’s the best you can do then. The CS forums are not visited by the teams that make decisions on where transfers will be from, or where they’ll go to.

Just understand, I don’t think I’ve ever seen them offer free transfers from one type of realm to another. I’m pretty sure it’s always been rp->rp, pvp->pvp etc.

Just because players want a certain thing doesn’t mean it’s good for the integrity of the game. Blizz has to look at the long term benefits of the many as opposed to the short term benefit of a few.

At the end of the day, we don’t really get to dictate who gets to reply to our posts. As long as an account is in good standing and the post doesn’t violate any rules, there’s really nothing wrong with someone replying.

I won’t say that it will never happen, Brokenwind, but it is extremely unlikely that we’d off Free Character Migration between realms of different types. We have always kept the integrity of the realm type when doing this and I don’t see that changing.

If you wish to move to a different type, that may be possible in the future as character transfers is the single service that our developers have stated they are looking into for Classic, since they were introduced late in vanilla.

The point of the free transfers was to help people moove from a full realm with long login queues to a new realm where they hope others will continue to moove their toons to as well.

New transfers were opened recently to allow moovement from a few other realms to some of the new realms too.

There’s currently no option to do so. Blizz has stated that they hope to implement paid transfers some time in the future for Classic. Until then, your only option is to re-roll if you want back on that realm.

DONT TRANSFER PEOPLE! They only give you an option to transfer to DEAD SERVERS. You’ll never get a group. I can’t even play now because there’s no way to transfer it back!!! Blizzard completely ruined my Classic experience and there’s no way I am going to reroll! I have paid Blizzard THOUSANDS of dollars over the years…this was a complete and udder disappointment.

On the other hand, if more people transferred, the full server wouldn’t be as full and the ‘dead’ server would be more robustly populated. Everybody on both servers would be happier.

I’m sorry, Warcastle, but CS does not currently have any tools that allow us to transfer or reverse a transfer. The system was set up to allow folks on high population realms that had a queue that ability to go to a lower pop realm.

I can’t speak for Development but they are likely monitoring the various realm population to see how everything settles. Once it does, then they can determine how to proceed. I’d keep an eye on the Classic General Discussion forum for any news/updates.

If it help Warcastle, there are currently 3 realms offering free transfers to Arcanite Reaper that started today. Hopefully there will be an influx of more people to your realm with these. They’re leaving these ones open until Monday too, so there’s a good chance you will start seeing more people around

We have always kept the integrity of the realm type when doing this and I don’t see that changing.

I would hope that the powers that be would view this as a unique situation, however. One that was brought about specifically due to RP/RPPVP servers being the ONLY viable overflow option for a time during the rollout of Classic.

This is not a scenario where players rolled on a PVE in order to level up more easily and desire to move to PVP after the fact, or players that rolled on PVP, got so far and then realized that they’d be happier on PVE. There is documented and demonstrable evidence that hordes (no pun intended) of players rolled on RPPVP because of lack of viable PVP servers. This is causing long lasting harm to the integrity of the RP server rulesets, primarily RPPVP. Non RPers are not going to see a transfer to a different RPPVP server at all tempting, and as a result, RP on Grobby will be diminished, and the population will NOT go down.

Trust me, I understand why moves from PVP to PVE, or PVP to PVE would be a no go. But allowing those that only wanted a PVP server to move off of RPPVP servers is not the same animal. Surely you can see the damage that leaving them in place harms the fabric of the RP servers, the “integrity” that you speak of, can’t you?

I mean, I can see where you’re coming from, but I don’t think it’s as large of an issue as you make it out to be.

Re-rolling on a new PVP server is always free too. At most, they might get the option down the line to pay for a transfer, but I really don’t see Blizz offering this as a free transfer option for what I imagine is not a large number of people.

Edit: And to be clear, whether or not Vrak believes that letting those players stay harms the server, it’s still not up to him and he’s not liaison to the teams that would make that decision.

This thread is about free transfers, Paid transfers that allow what you wish will likely happen later in different phases. For free transfers, they have always been to the same server type.

You can create new characters and play on as many servers as you wish, as long as it is no more then 50 characters on the license.

You may have missed this also.

Come on now, not that tired argument. Entire guilds were established and players fought to level during the first week.

Look, I do not spend as much time as a handful of you do in this subforum, but I understand quite clearly what the limits of blues in here are, thank you very much. I am merely enjoying actual communication with Vrak.
