I purchased a character transfer with the intention of transferring my character, who is level 85, with like 80s, no mail, not in a guild, and no auctions from Whitemane to Mankirk, when I’m under the character on Whitemane, the Character Transfer is grayed out. I’m not sure what I did wrong?
Edit: This concerns Cata Progression transfers and I was wrong, sorry!
From their description (i.e., a level 85 character), they should be able to transfer since it is a Cataclysm Classic character.
I wonder if there are currently restrictions for certain realms on Cataclysm Classic.
D: Ah sorry read over it
According this support article you can only FCM towards these two realms with two extra stipulations:
In addition to overall Character Migration Restrictions:
- You can only transfer characters from and to the same realm type (PvP or PvE)
- You can’t transfer characters from a realm that is already connected to the above listed realms
Because your realm type is (PVP) Whitemane it is not possible to transfer towards Mankrik (PVE). Though you said you’re using a PCT but I can vaguely remember that if these are special destination targets you can’t use a PCT to bypass FCM restrictions.
Cataclysm Classic should not have the same restrictions that the other Classic iterations currently have.

- At the end of a PvP season, we recommend that you transfer only after receiving the rewards
so if i sent a bunch of mail to a character and then accidently transferred the character supposed to receive that mail, those items are now gone?
They should eventually bounce back to the sending character, but that usually takes over a month.
Wow. Thanks for the swift reply. I appreciate the info.
Forgive me if my knowledge is somewhat out of date but aren’t there restrictions on what realms you can migrate to in classic? From what I understand, certain realms will be locked down entirely, preventing migration to or from them.
And as for the free realm changes, those only occur for a limited time as server population control, at least from what I remember. If you paid for a realm change and were incapable of using it then you need to either request a refund or file a ticket, explaining that you spent money on a service you couldn’t utilize.
If this was around the time Anniversary got released, they disabled PCT for all Classic versions. Even if you had paid tokens before. I assume they will re-enable it in the future.
It depends. General big free transfers are announced on their respective forums. If you open up the shop it will also include the realms that you can choose to migrate to. What people often confuse it with is that it is a “I can pay/I can choose any realm I want” from the FCM screen.
Doubtful, unsubbing is fairly straightforward. Another confusion I see here is that players think removing the card is sufficient for unsubbing instead of hitting the unsub button.
I cannot move any of my toons anywhere from anyplace to any other place in Classic SoD. Even after I bought two paid for transfers to do so and they have it listed there that you can move over using free xfer but I have never been able to. Free realm changes are listed as available right now and the xfers that I paid for, for SoD only have never once worked in SoD.
And I even just submitted a ticket for it for more proof so…I am not making this up. They legit wont let me xfer, never have and never will.
Classic SOD does not allow for paid transfers. It’s only usable on the regular Classic realms. Now, the support article is a bit outdated, not reflecting the update that allows for Character Transfers on the normal Classic realms, but it also says there about SOD not offering transfers.
Because transfers are indeed disabled for classic as was posted above. If you already purchased transfers but you can’t use them, you may be able to request a refund depending on how long ago you purchased them. You can also try explaining that you didn’t know you couldn’t transfer, but there’s no guarantee that you’ll get your money back, and should expect not to if it’s been a while.
So they should stop having the option for free transfer selection to pop up in SoD. It is still listed there.
