Hi good folks of customer support. My problem is that I’d love to transfer a toon from this account to a new account that I have but I get the message stating that the accounts need to be controlled by the same person. They are.
FYI This is the op on my new main account.
Are both accounts registered under the same name?
Only the official registered owner should be accessing either account. Only exceptions are for minor children or legal wards who are allowed to share an account with their parent or legal guardian. And even then, only one child/ward is allowed to share an account.

Yeah, both accounts were created by me, I didn’t purchase one or anything. I just made the op account YEARS ago, and I had forgotten my log in info so I just created a new account when I bought shadowlands pre purchase. There ARE different names on the account because I’m transgender and have since changed my name, though not legally, it’s my name. Many thanks the reply!

Ahh, then that is where it can get a wee bit tricky and you will need Blizzard’s assistance to sort it all out so you can do the transfers.

This would be the issue as the names will have to match one another, letter for letter. You can try to put in a ticket to change your name on the other account to the updated one.

If you log into your old account on the website here, you should have the option to update your first name.
After that, assuming you didn’t use different last names, the transfer should work.

For different last names, you’ll have to Putin a ticket and include a copy of a legal name change I believe.
