Hi,
I recently made a character transfer from the SoM server to the Classic Era server. It’s been several hours, and the character has completely disappeared. I do not see them on the original SoM server, nor the destination server.
Please advise.

Is that your level 24 Night Elf Rogue? That looks to be the most recent transfer I can see.
So, if that is it, it looks like it was transferred to Whitemane.
Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, the NE rogue. On my character screen, I am not seeing it. Is it stuck in the nethers?
Try creating a lvl 1 toon on that realm if it hasnt shown up in 24hrs open a problem with purchase ticket.
Creating a level 1 toon did not fix the issue.
You seem to be creating a character on the Classic Era realm, Tonyparmesan. You want to make sure you are logging into Wrath of the Lich King Classic client. That’s where your character was transferred to.
Ohhhhh. I was under the impression the SoM character transfer was to Classic Era Whitemane. Are you indicating that the SoM transfer is not to classic era, and instead to WOTLK?
It appears that I’ve made a mistake. MY INTENTION was to transfer the character from the SoM realm to the CLASSIC ERA Whitemane. I did not realize there were two Whitemanes. In fact, I didnt realize SoM to WOTLK was even a possibility.
Can this be corrected?
As far as I am aware you should have a choice between the two.
Generally, those kinds of transfers are considered final, and unfortunately, even if the rare exception would have been possible, no workaround exists that would allow it.
Unfortunately, based on how character transfers work, in order to revert the transfer the character would need to be moved back to that realm. As the realm is now locked, and has been for some time, it isn’t a viable destination. Even from our side, it would tell us the destination is not available and we cannot transfer between game types. Sorry, Tony.
We can’t undo the transfer back to SoM and then I can reinitiate the transfer to Classic Era Whitemane?

No, the SoM realm does not exist in a way that would allow the character transfer to be reverted. Our system wouldn’t allow us to do that, and if it did, then it is more than likely that the character would be lost to the void.
Sorry, Tony. The good news, is the character was still fairly low level and you may be able to get back to that point on a new character if you wanted to continue.

It’d be greatly appreciated if my rogue could be transferred to Whitemane Classic Era, not Whitemane WOTLK. It appears it was possible for the aforementioned person, and I hope the same exception can be made here.

That post is dated November of 2022, so at the time the SoM realm was still available. As I mentioned previously, the realm is no longer available so the same steps that were able to be used simply are not possible now.
Right, I understand that. However, the character is not on SoM Server anymore. It was moved from SoM Server to Whitemane WOTLK. So, in practice, the same application of that post would solve this issue as well…moving the character from Whitemane WOTLK to Whitemane Classic Era.
That isn’t what happened though, that may be that persons understanding of events but that isn’t what happened on the backend.
You cannot directly transfer a character from Wrath Classic to Classic Era, which I mentioned in my previous post. You would need to move the character back to the SoM realm, then select either Wrath Classic or Classic Era.
The SoM realm is not active and cannot accept the transfer of the character back to it.
