Yesterday, an update was made to allow character services to be completed once again. We’ve seen reports that players are successfully completing their services. If you’ve been waiting for this issue to be resolve, please try again.
We’ve also seen some confusion regarding Legion: Remix (aka Timerunner) characters. Characters that are participating in Legion: Remix will not able to use character services. This is currently intended.
Note: There is a separate issue being worked on where Legion: Remix characters are not able to be converted to Standard characters. This is still in progress and not related to the Character Services issue that this topic was created to track.

We’ve been seeing a lot of posts from folks who have been having trouble completing a character service, name change, race change, character transfers, boosts, etc…
We just wanted to provide a centralized location that acknowledges that we’re aware of the issue and where we can provide updates when they become available.
Just to make sure what folks are seeing. As we understand it, when initiating a character service it just isn’t able to complete. You are still otherwise able to back out of that process and access the character?
If anyone has a case where you are stuck mid-process, please do let us know.
Would this include item restoration services as well for a remix character? Because I can pull up character, select the items but an error occurs when trying to restore.
I am currently sitting on a race change token. Whenever I click on the token, then the character, then hit accept - there is no continue from there. It just sits with a green check mark and I can’t enter world. I am able to escape out of the menu but then it just starts back as a token and my race never changes.
Any chance we can get an ETA on this? I really wanted to convert a character from timerunner to normal for raiding reasons and I can’t, I also can’t use the character boost I got from pre-purchasing midnight.
From there, nothing happens. The menu does not disappear, characters animate on the warband screen as normal, etc. Clicking the X icon at the top corner of the Race Change menu does cancel the process and then the character can be logged onto as normal. From personal experience this applies to both Race Changes and Name Changes, and I’m sure most/all other services as well.
I’ve been trying to transfer my character Sakio (Level 80 Hunter) from Turalyon to Stormrage, but the process keeps getting stuck. After selecting the realm, the green check mark appears, and then nothing else happens — it just stays on that screen indefinitely.
I opened ticket US106425145 and received confirmation that the issue had been resolved, but the transfer still doesn’t work. It’s now been over a week since I first reported this, and I still can’t complete the transfer.
I’ve cleared cache, restarted the game, and tried multiple times on different days, but the result is always the same.
Could you please escalate this or let me know if there’s any update on when the service will be functional again?
Just bought a race change (first) that i plan on saving for when the new allied race becomes playable and a faction change for my goblin rogue. No mail or any of that stuff, not in a faction specific place nor do i have anything faction specific on my character
I try using the faction change on my goblin rogue Vsyx-Moonguard, it asked to choose a character so i chose that one, then it wanted me to hit accept which i did, then it just does nothing. It doesnt move to the next window or anything, i can leave and retry as much as i want but i can not progress past that point, i can still also log onto my rogue.
Sounds like at this stage, they’re still gathering information. How would they know enough to even guess at how long it would take to fix?
Leaving aside the fact that the developers don’t share ETAs with the users, because those users seem to think the first letter stands for “Promised” instead of “Estimated”.
It will take as long as it needs, and not one second longer. (But also not one second less.)
My faction change gets stuck at the step that says, ‘You’ll customize your character in the next step,’ and won’t progress any further. I can exit or back out of the faction change and still log into that character. The character I tried it on has no mail, auctions, or anything else that would prevent a faction change. I was trying to go from Horde to Alliance and only attempted it on that one character.
I have the icon purchased a name change. select the icon, choose my character, type in my name click next and nothing happens. Like its missing the third step to confirm you want to do this or something. I can exit out of the name change ui and log in… exit game all the way out. nothing changes.
I bought a Character boost yesterday that went through immediately and showed completed on order history and on my bank statement. The token appears on the main menu but when I try to use it nothing happens. I tried creating a new character with the boost option and still to no avail. I tried today to boost my toon and still the same result of not response.
Hello, I purchased a race change on Moon Guard and it’s not letting me change my chosen character. I’m also having issues where I can click the change icon, select my character and I click the Accept button and get the green check mark and then nothing happens. But I’m able to exit out of it. I’m a little frustrated but glad to see this is being worked on. I’ll check back for updates, thank you.
I am unable to convert my level 80 Legion Timerunner character to a Standard character. What happens is I select the hourglass icon next to their name on the character select screen. A warning pop-up window displays confirming if I want to convert this character and letting me know I cannot undo this action. One of the buttons counts down from 5 and then activates to a “Yes” button. I click on it. The warning pop-up window disappears and nothing else happens; I am back to my campsite with no changes.
Yes, I am currently logged into the realm where the Timerunner character resides.
Yes, the Timerunner character is greater than 24 hours old.
Yes, I own the TWW expansion and the subscription is active.
Yup same issue here but with Server Transfer went to pick the server and clicked next but then nothing happens. Another weird thing I noticed is the server I was trying to switch to was originally showing up when I tried to switch but now it’s not at all, I thought it might be because it’s considered full but then I tried to switch to another full server and that one came up, but still the same, click next and nothing happens. Wyrmrest Accord won’t show in the server transfer options anymore, even though other full servers do.
Pls be aware if you are any paid services with lemix toons, although not communicated there seems to be a policy not allowing
“Having investigated further, I can confirm that if you are looking to apply character service to your timerunner characters, sadly, it would not be possible as it is not indended by developers. We recently switched off services for Legion Remix characters. However, you can still use them for Modern WoW characters outside of Legion Remix.”
