A guildie accidentally deleted the wrong toon and was told character recovery service is down until TWW, but it’s unclear if that means characters lost now will be recoverable later or if they are just gone.
Edit: Since it’s a recurring question, it’s a different character that gets deleted than the one you try to delete. A thread from the CS forum is shared a few posts down.
Character Restoration is just down, no ETA for when it will be back up.
As far as I can tell, from reading in CS Forum, GM’s cannot restore your character either, you may just have to wait, but your character will still be there once it’s back up and running.

Agree with Caz, there was a blue post out a little while ago that basically said character restoration would be down when the warbands went live for an unknown amount of time. I dont think it would perm delete the character, but your guildie may not get it back for awhile. That really sucks they deleted the wrong toon
How do you accidently delete your character when you have to spell delete, and even confirm on top of that??
Found this on CS forum. Looks like a warband glitch. Delete one character but the one at the top of your favorites gets deleted instead. That’s exactly what my guildie described too.
You can still contact support and see if they will help, considering people seem to be having trouble with warbands and what character they are actually on, they may help you.
There is nothing support can do about character deletions. There is no way to bypass a disabled functionality.
My thoughts exactly. The confirmation box is there for a reason.
Really because I heard someone say that support helped them when warbands first launched. Though this was just word of mouth so idk

There is only so much GMs can do. With the restoration service down, there’s usually no way to bypass that. They’ll get a template response that characters can be restored using the restoration service and then they’d have to reopen the ticket and they’d most likely get told character restoration is down. They can try, but I feel it may be futile and just wasting ticket time.
I was just told by Blizzard CS on X that " we would not be able to restore the character in question at this time."
My guildie got her main back. Purely speculating Blizz restored it during yesterday’s downtime.
how did he get his back ,this is has happend to me yesterday and maybe i have done like 8 tickets to blizzard all of which they said they cant restore my character, could you ask him how he got his character back the same exact thing has happend to me i was clearing the character list when it randomly pick my main and it deleted my main character by accident
they just did a ticket. got the same response but it was back 4 days later.
How much longer will this take? Pls Blizzard!
